ASUS DR-900 - iPads got competition

Hi,

Just checked this out at engadget and it is so cool:
http://www.engadget.com/2010/03/02/a...official/?s=t5

Asus DR-900 looks cool and it certainly will give iPads competition if the pricing is kept right.
This industry has got more competitive even though its just a start for these touch books / pads to come out.

Cant wait for them to actually be released.

Regards,
Alons

Yeah, it's not even color. No browser. No multi-touch. The screen looks very ordinary with a very slow refresh rate. It's a dedicated e-Reader, and that's all. No competition for the iPad here.

That Asus is far from being a competitor for iPad.

This one is more likely: DigitalRise X9.

Yeah, it's thicker. I can live with that, than having an iPad.

This Asus competing device looks interesting, but I think that the iPad's OS (and user-friendly app inventory) will grant it most of the market advantage.

What? An un-branded stuff from China?

I was in China for two weeks, lot of cheap electronic stuffs, but I didn't buy any.

Well, the things you bought in US would most likely come from China. So you just bought Chinese merchandise in a more expensive way, in US
