Question

Where is Best Place to Buy...

...web hosting and registrars looking to sell out?

I have had minimal luck on DP. I checked out Site Point, Wicked Fire, and Flippa. I did not see anything too spicy there. Obviously this is one of the best sites to look. But I did not see anything really listed in the B&S.

Where else should I be looking???

Thanks in advance.

DP isnt' the best place to do much these days. They don't moderate properly. From time to time you'll see people listing their business for sale here on WHT in the offers thread so just keep an eye open there. And you should be able to open your own thread requesting to buy. Other than that, can't say where else to look.

If you do buy, you'll be at risk of losing many if not most of the customers you buy. So just be careful with how you handle the migration. Many people don't like changes in ownerships of hosts. I've personally had several bad experiences.

Good luck.

Thank you again for the awesome feedback man. I really appreciate it.

Without getting into your personal business. What kind of bad experiences have you had? What should I be keeping any eye out for after close of the sale?

I've never bought nor sold a host/registrar. But years ago, I had a shared hosting account with a host that was sold. A week after it was sold, the new company wiped out my data and put me on a new plan. Bad exp. Then a few years ago, similar situation except the server would go down or lag and the new company wouldn't even respond. That's just from the consumers end. In both cases, they lost my business and I found someone new - haven't stayed with either for more than a month after the switchover so I'm pretty sure the hosts lost some money there. That's the risk of buying clients.

Ah good story. I can definitely understand where you are coming from. Additionally I am sure that experience is more common then not for some selling out. Especially when you look at the huge amount of low cost web hosts out there.

I am looking to put some long term money behind my web host. So I would expect the service they receive to be better than what they were used to.

But time will tell.

Where would they be listed here? Premium section?

It looks like you have to pay for that section. Unless I am looking in the wrong place.

It should be under other hosting related offers, in the advertising section.

Thanks man.

I was looking in that one premium section alone.
