I need someone to access my server and have a look at some configurations

Is it possible to setup a ftp account in cpanel that will give a user access to my server but only be able to view files and not edit, delete them etc.

im not sure about the terminology of this but im guessing it would be read only???

I need the same function in Cpanel/WHM. In windows it can be done easily if there is no control panel like Plesk.

It is not anonymous access. The user will authenticate while connecting to the FTP, but it will have only read access to the files and folders which means he will not be able to upload or remove files/folders.

ps. FTP by definition is read/write. If all you need is for people to be able to read files from the server without being able to upload them then simply use HTTP instead of FTP. That means placing the files in public_html instead of in public_ftp
