VPS/VDS Counter-Strike

Well yes it's another topic about Gameservers.

I'm looking for a VPS Host up to $40.00 a month that can support the following

Two Counter Strike Servers Running at 1000FPS(TCADMIN A PLUS OR ANY GAME PANEL)

Webhosting

1GB Ram+

100MBIT Port

I've check with NFO apparently they are sold out for a month

Any Suggestions on a Good VPS/VDS Host?

I wouldn't dare to touch any other host other then NFO for a VPS/VDS for a game server. Just hope someone else starts offering them

If you increase your budget by another $20, you would easily get a dedicated server.

Probably not a good choice to run 2 high FPS game servers on a low-end dedicated server. He's better off sticking to a mid to high-end VPS that runs on a node with much better hardware if he's going to host game servers.

Agreed. When the servers fill up, they can use up quite a bit of CPU and RAM and if you're on a celeron dedicated server, it could just overload the CPU very easily. Compared to being on a server with a xeon CPU. (from exp)

Other providers should be able to meet your requirements.
I think the most important part will be ensuring that they have a decent network with extensive local peering and decent providers such as internap, level3 etc...

Linode can meet your requirements, and probably is a lot more generous with CPU time than most others (each VPS has four virtual cores on eight-core hosts, and host load tends to be low so you can get what you need), but you'd have to up your budget a bit. A gig of RAM goes for $60/mth.

A word of caution: don't run a web server on the same box as your game servers. Get a second low-end VPS (~$20 for Linode) and use that for web hosting. At Linode, bandwidth is pooled, so it can take advantage of that too. It's a bad idea to run a web server on a game server because the load spikes of people hitting the website (or pulling down maps/etc from in-game downloads) can hurt the performance of the game server.
