I don't understand, you pay $24.99 for 24 months then you own the design?

Yes. We build you a bespoke website which takes about 1 week. Then when it’s finished we will start billing you per month for 24 months. Your website will be running during this time. Did you think you had to pay for 24 months before we build your website, if so I need to rewrite it?

It's aimed for businesses with low capital. Rather than blowing hundreds on a website in one go you can pay monthly, making it easier to with cash flow etc.

    Thanks
    Dave

    Hi Dave

So what happens when the customer stops paying the payments before he has paid the full amount ?

Chase them through the courts or sell the debt to a debt collectors?

I think it's a good idea, if you do it properly and get a good credit agreement created. It's done in every other industry i.e. computers, furniture etc. so why not web design?

But, if someone offshore decides to stop paying and keep design, what can you do?

He's charging £24.99 a month, which would suggest he's only wanting UK clients.

We're not really planning on selling to offshore clients, only to UK and USA with other exceptions.

    I agree HostThree

I was just curious how Dave would manage this, chasing people through the courts is one thing but chasing people through the courts internationally is another it really could not be cost effective ?

I think it is a really cool idea, I have never seen this type of offer before when it comes to web design and I for one found it very interesting as I am looking for a web designer to design my first hosting web site and thought it would be a great way to get a nice design without the upfront payout..

But like I said I was just curious and wanted to see how professional the set up was and whether there was contracts involved or if the site was hosted with Dave until full payment was made as i could not tell from looking at his site.

We do not need a credit license because we are not offering credit. There is a set up fee followed by monthly payments, that’s it. I have discussed this with my lawyer and have a contract in place. So don't worry everything is organised and above board

    Dave,

I just want to verify, you retain ownership of the site until it's paid in full, correct? After the 24 months, how much will you charge for hosting?

I have seen this done by others a few years back and believe it was quite succesful
[realy can't remember the name though].

Like any business concept, do it properly and it 'can' work.

I know your not setting up for 'distant selling'[at present ?] but personaly
for the type[and price] of service your offering I, as a businessman, would
really like to see 'An Address'.

    Good Luck with it.

ps for mods, I missed the 'clutter' so can't comment on that,
However, it may be this thread should not be in 'design offers' because thats not
    what the OP is about.
