Why more IPs?

I see they offer more than just 2 IP addresses. I'd like to know why do we NEED more than 2?

Some people host websites and/or other applications on their VPS that require multiple IP's. An example would be two websites requiring their own domain SSL certificates.

If they are using the server to resell web hosting, they'll need more than two IP's at some point.

You need a dedicated IP address to install a SSL Certificate, also, resellers may want their own IP address so when you do a reverse dns on the domain it can show their domain, not the hosts name.

There are several instances when you may need more IPs.

There shouldn't be any problem if the IP's are from the same IP subnet.

Incorrect, different IP's does not help for SEO, infact RIPE and ARIN will deny new IP allocations for SEO.

Why do people still push the myth that seperate IP's will help with SEO?

Beyond 2, SSL, VPN, IRC and Shell Accounts are the most common reasons.
