Hey all,

I am looking for a good web host that is situated in either the UK or Canada. Currently I host with MediaLayer and am very happy with them but I am starting a project that is related to online gambling so I want a host that allows this kind of content.

What I am looking for is speed and reliability, with good support. Price is not a huge issue. Basically something on par with MediaLayer's service.

I don't think a Canadian Medialayer exists, you can try searching on Google.ca for web hosts with the "pages from Canada" option selected. And individually research each provider that comes up that meets your requirements and budget.

I didn't mean an actual Canadian MediaLayer but rather, a web host in Canada that is on par with MediaLayer's service since they rock so much

Have you got any space/bandwidth requirements? What about control panel?

The website will be starting new, so no space requirements above your average shared hosting account. I'm sure 5GB/month bandwidth and about 1GB of disk space would suffice to get us started so long as we can upgrade packages smoothly as demand grows.

For control panel, I prefer cPanel. I use DirectAdmin at MediaLayer and it's O.K. but cPanel is still much better.

I would check out the hosting area at the bottom, sadly the hosts can't contact you directly with any offers.

The OP is not asking anyone to contact him. All he needs suggestions and recommendations from other people here on WHT who can share with him reliable web hosting companies - which he can later shortlist and decide to go with one of them..

Well... searching a reliable hosting companies is possible based on reviews here on wht and by googling them. Yes, its not possible for any host to have 100% positive reviews, but the host that often carries a reputation of a reliable and good company should best suit your requirements.

Sorry, but where did I say he did? I was just merely saying, unlike other forums, hosts can't contact the OP directly and make an offer.

Well.. pardon me if my last post did not make sense or was misleading.. I meant to say, probably the OP is not looking for offers.. Offers would mean he would need a host to contact him. If he needed offers, he could have simply refered the offers section..

I believe he is looking for recommendations and not offers... I may be wrong, but that is what I feel here...

I have checked out the hosts in you guys signatures and am keeping them in mind. I've been trying to search WHT for other reviews but unfortunately the search feature keeps giving me a vBulletin Database Error. It was working earlier, hopefully it will work again soon.

Although, it's a long time since I used them - Tera-Byte (www.tera-byte.com) used to be very good.
