Clicking sound on inbound calls using trixbox

Recently we deployed our own pbx system and until last week was running great

we are running 3 x cisco 7965G on dedicated gige loop

For some reason as of late inbound calls will cut in and out ie each second word drops.

Have checked the server connection trace and ping loads everything seems fine.

there is no issue on outbound side and or inter calling

Anyone heard of this issue and have any insight?>

Are you using AMD processors?

We ran into similar issues on AMD based systems, but in the recording subsystems built into Asterisk.

If you're using AMD, throw it on a cheap Intel box to see if it goes away.

Are these calls coming in via a DDI from an ITSP? If so if could be a problem with the DDI/s, as it's not affecting outgoing calls.

You could test with a different DDI number. Maybe a free one from IPKall?

Call drops happen on the media server due to a lack of CPU power, quite so as you have no outbound issues. Inbound calls fail to get media CPU power, they wait and then drop off.

Can you say the inbound to outbound call ratio when the drop happens? What is the CPU load at that point of time?

Have tried to change over to a new server and still having same issue

now it has even come over to outbound calls

8gb of ram not even 1gb used

cpu is quad core and max ever hits is 10%

this is happening with only 1 call going or 20 no change

1 call will work without issues

another will have the problems

reboot sometimes fixes but comes back fast
