Besides the worst marketing name ever...
I think all the tablet technologies don't get it. People like to read a physical book. Why would you spend $600+ to be able to read books - you then need to buy again in digital format?
Watch movies? Really? I have a big screen LCD for that plus a laptop and desktop computer (both of which I never watch movies on).
None of my existing programs will work on it... Unless I'm an iPhone junkie - then why would I need the iPad?
No multitasking - critical mistake. Doesn't apple know that people today try to do 10 things at once?
The truth is you can get a sub $300 netbook, which is just as portable and has much more flexibility since it already supports any Windows or Linux applications, plus you can plug an any external peripheral like external drive, external LCD monitor, external blue ray burner...
whatever. Oh and the keyboard isn't extra either. I even saw some offers at Christmas where if you sign up for a 2 year contract with an Internet Stick you get a netbook for FREE.

Multi-tasking when 4.0 is showed off. It probably wont happen till June tho. There is enough power in the device for it. Multitasking is just built into 3.x.
Flash is a hell no. I don't think it will happen, mostly because its not needed. The browser supports HTML 5 and CSS3 fully. Thats where the web is going, so they are going to push it. Flash is also very very slow and CPU intensive.
You can't have a app with a flash ad running in the background going nuts sucking up CPU and memory. That will make the rest of the experience bad.SpeedSmart.net - The ultimate HTML5 internet speed test & App

This certainly generated a lot of buzz even if it was negative.

Apple is encouraging e-book publishers to charge $15 for an e-book. Amazon and B&N are usually around $10. The cost to publisher for an e-book can't be more than a few cents (copy file, send file to Amazon or B&N), and Amazon/B&N probably recover some of the 3G wireless fees with their cut (I wonder how much of the price they actually keep). Apple isn't providing any free 3G on the iPad, so they don't have to recover that cost like Amazon and B&N do, yet they want to charge at least 50% more for an e-book. The iPad is bad news for anyone who actually reads e-books, because even though the prices are stupidly high with stupidly limited features, the Apple drones will buy it, and the overpriced books, anyway.

I plan to buy one. I think its an awesome multimedia platform that gives you web and email. Looks like a good traveling companion, and something that could replace my notebook for casual web and email access.

Not all was negative. Some was positive but a lot was negative. I take the negative as a good sign, that it will be a successful product, as folks like to whinge and whine about things they know next to nothing about. Some loser blogger working from a little puter thinks he knows more than a company like Apple. It's little man syndrome and a bit of a laugh.
Apple are very good at seeing an opening in an existing market, and entering that market with a killer product, with worldwide media buzz that would make any CEO salivate, that dominates and becomes that market's benchmark standard.
They entered the music market and dominated that market with the iPod. The iPod revolutionized music distribution with iTunes.
They entered the phone market and dominated that market with the iPhone. The iPhone took phones to a whole new level with the App store. Competitors have tried to copy Apple's iPhone and App store combo, but they've fallen far short.
Now they're entering the book, magazine and movie/TV show market with the iPad. The iPad is essentially a content delivery platform for books, magazines and movies. It's not meant to be a laptop or a tablet PC. Just think Content Delivery Platform and think of the massive amount of content that could be delivered over this platform. If Apple can replicate the success of iTunes and the App store, with their iBooks store, this will be beyond huge.
Apple's track record of killer products and record profits speak for themselves and they always get the last laugh.• WLVPN.com • NetProtect owned White Label VPN provider •

As the previous post referenced about Flash, the ability to support Flash on the iPhone and iPad would be quite helpful. The lack of Flash support is an obvious negative.

How about you get a real comparison, because the one you posted is a f'in joke.
That image says. USB, SD Card slow, Video Output, and Headphone Plug as none. But thats all untrue. It does have a 3.5 MM headphone jack, it has video output, a SD card slow, and USB port.
Also the 1 GHz processor in the iPad will spank the one in that crappy HP all over.
But you did get something right with the "ifall" because you really do fail.SpeedSmart.net - The ultimate HTML5 internet speed test & App

Flash would be a definite need for the iPad, for browsing. I don't need it for the iPhone because any browsing I do is with iPhone specific sites, like news apps etc. I don't browse the normal web on the iPhone. The screen is just too small, so I stick to iPhone specific sites.

RE: flash -- it's apple. I really wouldn't hold my breath waiting for flash.
Hopefully the new html standard will just kill off slow, buggy flash anyways. But that's another story.Ask me about CloudCentrum (coming soon) -- The complete, turn-key cloud software solution

1. The HP shown in the image has a USB port you can plug anything into, as long as there's a driver for it. The iPad has a USB port that you might be able to plug anything into, but good luck convincing Apple to open the system so that you can install a driver for whatever it is. -0.5
2. Everything I can find shows the iPad needs an adapter to support external video devices. -1
3. The iPad does have a 3.5mm stereo audio output. +1
4. What's an SD slow? Not sure. -0.5

1. The 30 Pin Dock connector is actually open in the SDK, it has been so since 3.0 was released so anyone can come in and build a device to take advantage of and write drives for it.
2. Thats correct it will need an adapter, but that has its ups and down's, the downside is you need an adapter, but the upside is you could have many different types, like VGA, HDMI, S-Video etc. etc.
4. It's SD slot, Sorry wrote it quick lol.SpeedSmart.net - The ultimate HTML5 internet speed test & App

Fujitsu already sells a tablet for store inventories called iPAD.

In early 2009, Fujitsu's trademark application was declared abandoned by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, but the company re-opened its application in June. Since the re-instatement of the Fujitsu application, Apple has been trying to take it away (via proxy) — in fact, they've filed three petitions to extend the deadline. Apple now has until Feb. 28 to oppose Fujitsu's claims.

I already have an iPhone and a MacBook Air, so it's not something I'm interested in, but I can definitely see a market for it. This is the type of thing that you'll start seeing on someone's coffee table when you visit.
