Paypal-gosh..hope you need anything

Hi!
I have been very vocal about Paypal..but this takes the cake.

Anybody bothered to click on "Contact us" recently? Well..don't.

I've accused them of being nobody home..but this takes the cake.

Click on "call us" brings a lovery page of 500 internal server error page. The page tells you to send email to webmaster@paypal.com

Don't do it! A robo responded:

We want to help you but we're not able to respond directly to emails sent to this address.

If you have a question about your account, please contact us through our website. Here's how:

1. Go to the PayPal website and log in to your account.
2. Click "Contact Us" at the bottom of any page.
3. Click "Contact Customer Service," and ask your question.

One of our Customer Service agents will reply to your question.

We value your business and want to provide you with the best customer care.

Thanks,

PayPal

>>>Only problem is: Both of those options don't work!

Unreal. Uhhh..anybody know how to contact these idiots?

>>>Paypal my butt. They ain't no pal of mine.

>>>>>Oh! "Send us a message" does not work either...

Did it perhaps strike you that they might be experiencing a temporary problem?

It doesn't sound like a major problem. Like Exoware said, it's most likely a bug. (It's actually up now.)

This may come off a little odd, but be careful what you say about PayPal in public... I wouldn't be accusing them with anything while your info to find your account is in your signature...

Seriously...

Hi!
Oh please. I'm not worried. Punish me for posting the truth?

Feh. It wouldn't be the first time.

I doubt PayPal would ever retailiate against you but other companys that do view this forum will.

you hit a temporary error, if you hit it for 3 days it's because your computer/browser had something cached, no way they were down for 3 days.

Now i've seen sporadic errors that will regenerate and i've pointed them out to PayPal on the phone and they resolved them. Sometimes what you see and what they see are different and it takes a phone call to resolve things.

It's funny that PayPal won't handle anything via email but they email you their responses to questions you submit to them via their help system.

If you're frustrated with not being able to get hold of a real person, have you considered your own merchant account with a trusted provider?

I have the same issue:
Quote:
Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@paypal.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
I can't update the shipping information on the payment page.

What type of account do you have? I've had a business pro merchant account for a few years and I've never had a problem contacting them via phone or email. They have always corrected problems quickly.
Most issues with updating my info has been resolved by using the "help" section.

I have Premier account, simply impossible to contact anyone via phone, only via web form and I had the following useless reply:

Thank you for contacting PayPal.

I understand that you are enquiring about printing a postage label on your
account.

If you are having difficulties printing a postage label, you might be
experiencing a minor technical issue. Please clear cache and cookies from
your computer or try to use a different browser when printing a label.

Cache or Temporary Internet files are used when you return to previously
viewed web pages. If you experience difficulty viewing a web page, the
cache may be corrupted. In addition, if you do not clear your cache files
regularly, you may experience longer loading or browser closing times.

In order to improve your performance on the web and specifically while
visiting our site, we suggest that you occasionally clear your cache.

Below are instructions describing how to clear caches of various browsers.
If your browser is not listed below, we suggest that you use the help
section of your browser or contact your service provider’s customer service
centre.

Clearing Cache and Cookies in Internet Explorer:

1. Open an Internet Explorer browser window.
2. Click ‘Tools’ at the top of the page.
3. Select ‘Internet Options’ from the drop down menu.
4. On the General tab, click the ‘Delete Files’ and ‘Delete Cookies’
buttons in the Temporary Internet Files section.
5. This will delete all the files currently stored in your cache and
cookies.

Clearing Cache and Cookies for Mozilla browser:

1. Open a new Mozilla Firefox browser window.
2. Click 'Tools' at the top of the page.
3. Click ‘Clear Private Data’ from the drop down menu.
4. Checkmark the data you wish to remove.
5. Click Clear ‘Private Data Now’.

****************

To print your postage label:

1. Log in to your account at www.paypal.co.uk
2. Go to the 'Account Overview' page or click the 'History' tab near the
top of the page.
3. Find the relevant transaction and click ‘Print Postage Label’ in the
'Order status/Actions' column.
4. Complete the form.
5. After entering all your information for a package, you will be prompted
to print your postage label.
6. Once you have printed the label you will then be presented with a
‘Postage Label Completed’ screen. From here you can print a packing slip,
create multiple labels for the order, reprint or cancel the label, find
your nearest Post Office or return to your PayPal Account Overview page.

Please be sure to print your label straight away and use it within 24
hours.

You can even use this service if you receive a payment for an eBay item and
the customer did not pay with PayPal:

1. Log in to your 'My eBay' account
2. Find the item you want to post.
3. Under the 'Action' column of ‘Items I've Sold’, click on 'Print Postage
Label'.
4. Log in to PayPal to complete the label.

You can pay for postage labels with your PayPal account balance, with an
Instant Transfer from your bank account or with your credit card.

I appreciate the opportunity to assist you.

Thank you for choosing PayPal.
in reply I have sent:

Thank you for your reply, but your instructions are useless, as I am
software developer and I know that the 500 Internal Server Error is
not caused by browser as it's server side issue.

Could you better pass this issue into 2 level
technical support or at least in IT department, as I know that you
never help (with your instructions), please?
