Quotes for a new dedicated server

Hi

I've got the following quotes from The Planet and Softlayer for a new server. Could you recommend any other company for a better deal? I would like to use the server for a few projects I'm currently planning, one that involves Rapidleech.

Specs wise I have the following in mind:

Quad Core Prossesor
Minimum 4GB RAM
Minimum 500GB SATA hard drive
CentOS 5.x
cPanel with Fantastico
About 2000GB bandwidth to start with
100Mbps uplink

Quote from The Planet: $25 setup and $201.50 per month

Quote from Softlayer: $0 setup and $204 per month

Can anyone recommend another company that may provide me with a better deal?

Hi Reuben,

Those prices are on par for what you're looking for. I might suggest you shop around the offers forum to contrast & compare a little bit before you bite the bullet, but it looks like you're on the right track.

I currently have and will be getting a better server from ubiquity. The one I have right now is a quad xeon 2.13ghz with 4gbs of ram, 250GB Sata, and 6tb of bw.

The one I am getting will be a way better deal. I must say it is the best deal I have seen so far. It is an 8 core xeon 2.26ghz, 500 GB SATAII 7200rpm Drive, 6,144 MB DDR3 ECC-Registered Memory, 100mbps dedicated uplink port, and 6TB of bandwidth. Must mention they have some great support, the good thing is that they have live chat, and it makes it so much easier.

So definitely search for Ubiquity!

I think their network providers are different. So if you have any preferences you can take into consideration this fact as well.

Do any of you have experience with Limestone Networks? They have very attractive pricing currently. But do they have a good and stable network? And their support?

Limestone is a good provider.

Try to search here in WHT for a review.

thats actually pretty expensive for .US, maybe look at .NL but dont expect the same speeds inside USA as you do with a .US Server.

Also .DE, but Providers there usualy dont like anything Warez related.

Both deals look good. What are you looking for exactly in terms of budget.

You can get a better price than this for your configuration. Maybe look around at the Find Host section on WHT
