True BusinessID Wildcard GeoTrust Resller ?
Hello Folks ,
We just picked up our True BusinessID with EV (GeoTrust) from NameCheap for $179 but we are now also looking for True BusinessID Wildcard (GeoTrust). NameCheap doesn't seem to offer the wildcard from GeoTrust so we are looking for the cheapest reseller that offers it. I eNom offers it for $499 but we are looking for a better price then that maybe around $299.
Options ?

You probably won't find a GeoTrust Wildcard for under $500. That's about the price that most resellers get them at, so they'd have to be selling them for a loss. Retail price on them is $995.

Yeah I understand that, but look at the GeoTrust EV which retails for $895 and NameCheap is offering them at $179. Someone out there has to be selling them cheaper then $499.

My point was that even a company who can negotiate a good deal with GeoTrust, is still not going to get them for much less than $500. Wildcard certs aren't exactly loss leaders. Low end certs are. GeoTrust EV certs are sold to resellers for MUCH less. If you want a wildcard cert for under $300, you need to look at other brands like RapidSSL or Comodo. Even Comodo's "premium" brand (DigiCert) will cost you $399.

Fair enough, from a business stand point I just find it odd how they are offering there EV certs below $179 to resellers yet they are offering there wildcards at $499 and the EV require alot more support then the wildcards. I prefer not to spend $499 on a cert when we don't "really" need it we just wanted to start using sub domains and I didn't really want to go with a brand other then geotrust.

I see $399, but still, that's definitely the cheapest I've ever seen for a GeoTrust TrueBiz Wildcard. Let us know how the transaction works out for you if you decide to buy from them.

Will do. I am still going to shop around as they don't look to appealing besides the price.
