OpenVPN with OpenVZ

Hello,
I'm trying to install openVPN on my vps server running openvz.
I get the error:
Service deferred error: IPTablesServiceBase: failed to run iptables-restore [status=1]: ['iptables-restore: line 36 failed']: svc/svcnotify:25,internet/defer:243,internet/defer:312,internet/defer:328,sagent/ipts:105,sagent/ipts:39,util/error:49,util/error:29
service failed to start due to unresolved dependencies: set(['user', 'iptables_openvpn'])
service failed to start due to unresolved dependencies: set(['iptables_openvpn'])

is there any way to fix this, or any other programs i can use to get vpn goin on myserver

i am currently on a centos 5.4 (i can rebuild it to anything)

Thanks

You will need to contact your host and get them to setup the correct iptables modules to allow OpenVPN.
Without them doing this, it will not be possible for you to run OpenVPN.

Hope this helps.

Yes. Either a KVM or Xen VPS.

But your easiest option will be to ask your current provider to enable what is necessary for OpenVPN on your OpenVZ container. If I recall correctly these are:
Code:
DEVICES="c:10:200:rw "
CAPABILITY="NET_ADMIN:on "

Note that you also need TUN/TAP device driver to run OpenVPN

I created a tutorial on WHT here.

I used OpenVPN on OpenVZ running CentOS or Fedora (cant quite remember).

But as other have said all you need to ask your provider is for "TUN support" and depending on your iptable modules, some more...

But OpenVZ is perfectly fine for running OpenVPN, you will find cheaper OpenVZ VPS compared to Xen.
