Angry

I'm moving from VectorLevel!

I've been with VectorLevel since November 2008.

Things just keep getting worse.

The customer support staff were dismissive and unhelpful so I threatened to leave. When I complained they refunded me 1 month and told me that they had new ownership - so I decided to give them another chance.

However the uptime is abysmal and things have NOT improved. I have the uptime reports to prove it (aremysitesup.com).

VectorLevel claimed a "99.9% uptime guarantee with public uptime reports". That would be approx. 7 hours of downtime per year. So far in 2009 my domain has been down for over 40 hours (I couldn't be bothered to add up any more!). This is over 800% more downtime than VetorLevel "guaranteed" !!!

I got no answer when I asked where the "public uptime reports" were.

Also VectorLevel have migrated my domain 2 or 3 times this year! (And with less than 24 hours notice!).

Hi,

I'm angry because my domain hosted with VectorLevel is down alot of the time.

VectorLevel claims to offer a "99.9% uptime guarantee with public uptime reports" (where are these reports?)

0.1% would beapprox 7 hours a year.

However, so far in 2009 my domain example.com has been down for at least 40 hours! This is a massive difference and is totally unacceptable.

What is the reason for all of this downtime?!

If you require proof I can send you my records.

I know ownership/management recently changed at VectorLevel but the amount of uptime has not improved.

Thanks,

Dear Ben,

We can understand your concern over this issue and apologize for any inconvenience caused to you. All the services in the server are up and running fine. Your website is loading fine now. We shall keep monitoring the server and assure that such downtime will not occur again. Please try accessing the site after clearing the browser cache and cookies.

Thank you for your patience, co-operation and understanding in this matter.

Kind Regards,

Well my domain has already been down today from:

0:41 am to 01:11 am

and also from:

01:46 am to 02:02 am

The uptime guarantee seems to count for nothing (> 800% inaccurate), so forgive me if I don't have faith in your assurances.

I use independent services to monitor my domains - it's nothing to do with "cache/cookies".

Dear Ben,

Thanks for the update. Please let us know if you need any further assistance.

Kind Regards,
Martin
The only "update" they will get now is when I update my account to a new host!

Sorry to hear that you had such a (recently) bad experience with them, I wish you the best of luck with your new provider.

I think all matters should be resolved with vector level first before considering a new provider

It seem like VectorLevel is going downhill ever since Orien sold the company a few months ago.

Have you made full backups of your files and database? If you have not done so please do perform it immediately just in case anything happens.

Besides that, did they explain the reason of the downtime at all? 40 hours of downtime seem quite long. Are their servers overloaded in any way?

By chance do you think that maybe your reporting company might of gotten blocked by the firewall? I've seen that many of times before. Best of luck on your next host.

He seems pretty sure that he's leaving.

Sorry to hear that. It seems that after the switch of ownership, VL has gone downhill. Sad really.

Sorry to hear about your poor experience with VecotrLevel. Do you need help finding a new provider? If so, just let us know what your requirements are and we can help point you in the right direction

Yes, if you give us your specs (bandwidth/diskspace/features) and if you want to continue with DirectAdmin or move okay to move to another panel plus your price range, we can recommend some hosts that best suit your needs.

DA hosts are harder to find (not many have discovered that DA is the BEST panel ), but some that have good reviews here are medialayer and precisioneffect. VL used to be among that group, but alas, Orien is gone.

I contacted VL tonight as I was searching for a new shared hosting plan. I sent them an email very clearly stating that I could find no specifics on their website of what was included with each plan aside from extensive of the word "unlimited." (strike 1) I received 3 emails within 25 minutes informing me that my question would be answered soon (one would have been plenty - strike 2). The 4th email contained a response and was simply a copy/paste of the plan info from their website. (strike 3)

I would find it quite sad for them to reply with "We will updated you soon" to such a request.

I would say at this stage all faith has been lost in this company and it is not a nice transition from when Orien ruled the business.

Sad, very sad to hear. Orien must be so disheartened to know how his company has fallen.
