I am thinking of adding a live chat options on my site for support and customer service. How many of you use live chat? Has it helped business or make customers happier?

Yes, customers love it, thus an increase in sales and customer loyalty.

I think if you dont offer telephone support chat is a good idea but a telephone support 800# is the beter way to go.

I don't offer Chat on my site, but other Hosting Sites I go to, to gather information ... they use chat, it's helpful... and if I were looking for a Host (with my competitors) I would choose a chat enabled host over a e-mail or telephone only host. In other words, chat is good!!

We are going to start using phplivesupport soon. Live chat can really benefit both the customer and the host. Even simple solutions like AIM/ICQ.

I think it works, if there is actually someone on. If you can keep someone on it 24/7, it is definitly an asset. It can hurt if someone usually sees "off-line."
