WHT - AU and International

Hello,

I have a quick question, If WebhostingTalk AU is controlled by iNet Interactive, Why do they not all have the same rules to follow by?

I have seen over at WHT AU, They have a Shared Offers Request section where I have seen actual companies promote their businesses as an offer to the OP.

Why is this?

Communities tend to function best when they run in their own ecosystem, finding what works best for them, rather than a one rule for all communities kind of approach.

I can totally understand, Just thought iNet were quite strict on self-promotions!

iNet is not usually involved with the moderation their communities. Each community, like Aussie Bob said, is unique and have their own set of rules that fit best with their userbase and situation.

As a member of both WHT and WHTAU I can say that some of the rules of WHT won't work with WHTAU and vicaversa.

Here anyone with 10 posts and 7 days of membership can post in the advertising section but in WHTAU a member needs to be a registered service provider to post in the offers section.

Although there is a slight exception for that in the shared hosting section to allow people to post requests although normally only registered service providers can respond to the requests.

Something like that works in a smaller community like WHTAU but can be an administrative nightmare in a large community like WHT.
