Paying $500 for leaving ThePlanet

I was logged in into my GMail account and saw a very un-usaual ad:

Don't use ThePlanet - jonathanclark.com/theplanet - Thinking of hosting with theplanet? Think again.

I donno if this is real or not but this person seems too much f***ed up with ThePlanet and ready to even pay you $500 (http://jonathanclark.com/theplanet/) if you migrate from ThePlanet

I doubt if he will pay. Just imagine, 100 ThePlanet clients leave and everyone ask theirs 500$. It's 50.000 USD. Pretty much for an anti-host campaign.
His arguments 'Search google for "theplanet s**s" is a bogus one. I found 8 results on "WHt s**s" - so what? Besides, is this JonathanClark.com spamming you email account?

Hmm.... i think this will surely have an impact on the company. Big companies don't care about their small or medium sized customers.

I barely believe this is a legitimate offer! Up to $500.00 per client? Who has this sort of money to give a way when griping over a loss of less? Would be very interesting to see what would happen once he was approached! However you have to admire this guys principals!

This kind of thing happens often. It definitely seems legit. I noticed this in google recently. Google 'Dedicated Server'. He was one of the top 2-3 paid ads. (Heh, thats like $200 a click already).. heh, so I wouldnt doubt it if he was 100% sincere.

Well, to each their own. Very interesting though, when I traced his site, I wound up on a server at The Planet...none the less.
Ha.

You know, it says "up to $500 per client" to cover their moving expenses. This means he might pay one month of hosting for the person which can be anywhere from $50-$500/month, but I would guess not really near the high end of that range.

Chances are he's just trying to ruin their business, so after you do make the move and you go, "Now where's my $500?" you'll never hear back from him.

But then we'd see:

ThePlanet deserves to have their business ruined. Their Billing Department is the worst trash I've ever had the displeasure of working with in the past. They clearly have NO clue what they're doing -- and don't really give a damn if you think otherwise.
