The problem with a 5amp circuit (other than not being much power) is that 99/100 times a provider is going to give you that shared with other users. Having other customers on the same circuit is a bad BAD idea.

I know a guy in Phoenix, Chris Smith - really cool guy. You can reach him at 480-682-3266 or csmith [at] phoenixnap.com. Tell him Paul Phillips sent you and he'll probably cut you an awesome deal.

No, I won't get *anything* for the referral.

Cheers

Paul

It will probably be hard to find a facility that can provide a locked 1/4 rack as well. That 99/100 rule would probably apply again, as most facilities would just sell you 9-10U in a shared cabinet.

Being in California, Phoenix makes sense if you want the equipment relatively close, but can you explain Austin? I can certainly see the benefit of having your DR cabinet further away from you and if you have any traffic to the East coast, your latency would be much better in Texas, but with most of the traffic testing we see, all of Austin comes through Dallas on it's way to the rest of the country.

On top of that Dallas is a much more developed market as far as Colocation space goes. The main DC's I am aware of in Austin are Telco's and we all know what they like to charge and they don't normally have 24/7 Remote Hands.

Unless you have a specific reason for Austin, I'd recommend Dallas or even Chicago.

If you still prefer that market, I can recommend the Alpheus facility in Austin . Tim at tim.wilson@alpheuscommunications.com will help you out.

I second Trey for Tim Wilson. Another data center in Austin I know would be Sungard (used to be Inflow). CoreXChange is a very good data center if you want to go downtown Dallas.

I agree with Phillip here. I've met some staff members from the PhoenixNap facility, they are tremendous people. Nice and friendly, and really know what they're doing int he data center. I recommend contacting Chris.
