I registered one site with Half Price Hosting but like I've seen in this forum, they never reply to my questions.

Where can I find another ptovider with such low cost but better services?

What do you think about Burlee?

Regards

Jean-Marc

Don't always go for the cheapest option as it doesn't always work out.

HalfPriceHosting does it again.

1. First they tell the prospective clients that they host NT & UNIX, after the prospective clients put their sites on HPH...they tell UNIX clients to switch to NT or go elsewhere.

2. They tell the prospective client that they can add all their domains without a setup fee...then they add a setup fee without giving the client a chance to add the rest of their domains without it.

3. They tell prospective customers of their terrific service and how they respond within 24 hours...then the prospective client signs up and gets no tech support other than an auto response telling them that they will get tech support.

3. Then the sites go down but... they say it is only the second time in their history that this has happened.

4. Then for month's their clients are hitting send and receive on their email client because of the constant error messages due to miscellaneous excuses by HPH.

5. Then the stats they promised prospective clients never show up.

6. Then the advanced NT admin control panel they promised never shows up.

7. Then they change the SMTP address telling their clients that this will improve mail...So you have everyone go into the mail clients and change all the SMTP addresses.

8. Then a week later..the prospective clients that chose them partially because HPH said they had SMTP for us to send our domain mail from are screwed because they have decided to pull the SMTP service.

I am glad car dealerships can't do this or at this point I'd be carrying the frame of my car around in my hand since they would have taken back the wheels, motor, transmission and seats in an effort to improve my riding experience.

Choose HalfPriceHosting...for the time of your life. (Keep plenty of sedatives handy)

Thumbs down

I can confirm Halfassed Hosting's lack of concern for their customers. It took nine unanswered e-mail messages, countless phone calls and over a week to get my account set up so that I could actually use it. And that was early last year, before things appear to have gotten worse. Once when I called, I asked why my e-mails weren't being returned. While I never received an answer to that, I was told that it was always best to call, the guy didn't have any confidence in their ability to answer mail, either.

The biggest thing that hacked me off while we were with them, I had all of our ASP mail scripts set up to support JMail, then, without warning, they took JMail off and switched it over to ASPMail. Never told us before or afterwords. I just found it out by mere chance. And when I brought it to their attention, the response from David Fricke was more like I should have read their minds. Wouldn't even offer an apology.

They should be avoided like the plague that they are.

Hi there,

Regarding Burlee - I've got two sites hosted with them and they have been excellent. Their tech support is very efficient and fast. I would recommend them with no problem.

Hope this helps.

I just called Burlee tech support and someone answered right away. I almost fell off my chair. I didn't even have a chance to listen to elevator music. http://216.167.56.224/forum/ubb/frown.gif lol

I sent an email to their tech support and got an answer back in 39 minutes.

Is this possible or am I dreaming. I haven't even been able to find any complaints about them. Comon now somebody out there has to have something bad to say about them...lol

Cool

I recently moved one of my sites to burlee and have been really pleased. If I was to get nit picky they do have a number of extras that others provide as part of the service. But for a big provider they are reasonable.

You might also check out webaxxs.net. I have another site with them and they seem to be fast and reliable for a low price. I think they are owned by OLM. The customer service is not up to Burlee's standard...but who is?
