RSYNC Question

Heys guys,

Im worried about how often i backup, So the big question is.. Should i use RSYNC? I have been looking at http://www.bqinternet.com/ and was going to use them for the storage,

Is this a good idea? How hard is it to setup RSYNC?

Im running cPanel, CentOS

rsync is very easy to setup - I used it with BackupPC , and setting it up is just
- create/copy the config file.
- create/copy the secrets file (for authentication)
- open firewall port (873)

Do you back it up to your home computer automatically or to a remote server?

Ideally i would like todo both (home and offsite to bq).. is it possible?

rsync is a great tool we use it alot.
you can do it to a home server (not great for restoring though with slow upload) normally a vps or something similar is a good idea and its also off site.

Rsync is one of the best tools to configure backups on an offsite server. I don't think there is a need to upload backups to a home server as well as the offsite server. As long as the offsite server is reliable, your data will be safe.
