Arrow Wireless router connectivity help wanted

    Hello all!

First off, I hope I am posting in the correct catagory. I have a Linksys N Ultra Range Plus wireless router. I set up a security free network but I would like to know if there's an easy-to-use program that alerts me when someone connects and/or disconnects from my network - it would also be cool if the program gives a list of all who's connected. Would it be possible to also monitor what individuals are doing via the internet by connecting to my network?

I've been trying to find out about this for a long time. I was wondering if any of you pros can give me some useful advise and point me in the right direction.

well, if it supports SNMP monitoring, it would be possible to setup something to alert you, but i dont know what windows client software there is.

certainly this could be done fairly easily using nagios / SNMP monitoring on Linux, as long the router supports SNMP.

Another option might be to use a router that runs linux - these give you the flexibility to do basically what you want.

It was a cheap $60 router. How would I be able to tell if it can run linux? Do you think you can research it more? It's a Linksys wireless router model: WRT160N

BTW running a security free wireless router is highly not recommended, you never know if a bad guy connects to your's and does some crime/terror related activity.

Any you will be screwed for the rest of your life.
