    * Need Suggestions from VPS Provider

    Hi,

I have Self Managed 60GB VPS with Hyper-VM from a reputated company from 15months.
From last few months Hyper-VM stop showing graph(details) of
Disk and Inode as it normally shows as below...

    Resource - Used - Max
    Disk - 12.63GB - 58.59 GB
    Inode - 249061 - 30720000

I want to know is this a normal process that i have to shut down and restart my VPS every Night or even sometimes twice a day?

My provider do not giving positive and clear-cut answers, pls put some tight on this matter.

    Thanks in advance.

Um no, its not normal to have to reboot that frequently. Maybe you should look for management?

No, shutting down and restarting a server is very seldom a solid fix for the problem.

If you look around, google search, etc you'll see that hyper-vm is a far from stable product, potentially still ridden with security holes. I would look for a company with one of the new VPS panels, i.e. SolusVM, VePortal, etc, if I were you.

Thanks Mark n e-Sensibility for your replies.

I just want to know its a prob from my side to my provider's side.

I am using only 12GB out of 60GB for my direct personal clients only, No resellers, no email SPAM etc, only business website hosting.

I am not expert but can handle, WHM, cPanel n Hyper-VM.

Want to know why HD and Inode info disappear from Hyper-VM daily and shows when i restart my VPS manually?

There are about a million reasons why and we would need to see logs in order to determine that answer.

It's definitely a problem on your provider's side, or with hypervm, which it is their responsibility to manage.

Are you seeing any other issues during this time, such as a high load?

Thanks e-Sensibility for your answer. Even i am silently waiting their response from last few months and daily rebooting manually.

Mark, i never get any over load error, and i am using only 25% of my given space.

I am afraid to sell it to resellers bcoz all sites give slow response and goes offline after few hours when Disk info and Inode info do not show at Hyper-VM.

Maybe the VPS node is just oversold, have you asked if you can be migrated to a different node?
    Best Regards,

Ya Mark, I told around 10 times in last 6 months. They shifted me to another server but still the same problem is going on.

In fact i was unaware and was thinking that my VPS is self-managed so i must reboot it daily to run smoothly... ha ha

I google and read threads at WHT and know that there is no need to shut down and restart daily even if its a self-managed VPS.

I opened a ticket today, now if they don,t fix it, i will move ahead.

Thanks for your time and suggestions.
