    WD disabling TLER switch?

I am hearing that Western Digital is disabling the ability to turn TLER on and off on some of the newer black label drives (maybe others also). I actually just came across one in a batch of 4 that will not let you turn TLER on.
    Anyone having issues with this?

WD has infact disabled this ability.

If you want reduced TLER, you must purchase RE series

They can disable it. It is never good for their own bottom line. Forcing people to pay a premium for the drive to return a failure(what TLER is) is dumb.

Oh well, back to Seagate and Hitachi we go.
