I'm getting pretty confused over whether we should go for VPS or a Dedicated server option.
The hosting solution is going to run our in house office system (This is for about 50 people with constant connection) which is a custom made desktop windows solution for our entire offices operation, as well as running an intense website.
Can you advise if it would be better to go for a dedicated solution or VPS running zeus.
Our external developer have said that VPS is not an option for this as there is to much risk from other people on the box bringing it down, and it will not be powerful enough to run the system. On the other hand our internal IT wants to go for VPS because he says if it fails it can be brought back instantly - and he is concerned that if any majoe hardware fails on a dedicated server it would take a minimum of days to bring back online.
What would you recommend as solution? - VPS or Dedicated?
50 simulataneous connections is just for the office application. The solution also needs to run the website as well which is a pretty big intensive site with several million page impressions a month and some heavy DB querying.
