I love the Alien and Predator movies, especially the Alien movies. Signorney Weaver is just so awesome in her Ripley character. I have the 8 DVD Box set, with all those movies. Some of the newer ones I also have in Blu-ray too.

If you've got a proper sound system with all the speakers and stuff, it's all about LOUD. I have Dolby 5.1 surround sound with 7 speakers in total, and it's sweet as. The family was out for a few hours last week, so I cranked up the home cinema with AVP Requiem, really LOUD. Gotta have it LOUD!!

The James Cameron directed Aliens would be my favorite. Bill Paxton has some classic lines in that movie.

    Agreed Agreed...

but loud enough is just not enough.... a POWERFUL SUB like JBL-SW250 to rock your sofa seat is required and seems like you have got one like that

Sometimes it really feels like there is a earthquake, specially when I was watching Twister

    Deep Blue Sea
    I, Robot

I think they're also pretty good on very good screens and sound systems

And, to those who said Alien(s), I would NEVER watch that loud... the great effect on tose films is that there is no music!!! It scares the bloody **** out of me!

    OMG

Have anyone of you tried watching Western Movies on HT?

On this weekend I saw 3:10 to Yuma... The sound of gun shots and the ECHOOOO effects that comes after the shot... man it was so entertaining...

I love it after No Country for Old men

A good scary movie with good surround effects in my theater in the basement is awesome. Nothing like actually hearing things creeping up behind you or which direction the "thing" following you in the woods is. The subtle things can really make a movie way creepier than it would be otherwise.

    And yes, gunshot echos rule.

Some movies that I like include
    Seven Beauties
    Team America: World Police
I think both can benefit from high quality sound, the latter especially can benefit from a large, high quality video display.
