    Domain name delegation

In my domain name X.com's DNS server (DNS1), I have configured A.X.com to be delegated to server "Mars". However, I'd like to also delegate B.A.X.com to server "Pluto".

Should I set the delegation to "Pluto" from "DNS1", or should I do it from "Mars"?

That is really a very good question.

Never faced such a situation, or at least can't remember how it was tackled.

Logically it seems DNS1 should delegate to Pluto, rather than Mars.

However, if you see resolution problems with that, you'd have no choice but to do it from Mars.

So yes, my first preference would be DNS1, if I were you.

The answer is that once a.x.com is delegated to mars, mars will have to create all further sub domains under a.x.com like b.a.x.com or c.b.a.x.com..
