Exclamation looking for unmetered 100mbit/s dedicated server

    Hello all,

I'm looking for a reliable u.s dedi server provider who can offer an unmetered 100mbit/s server at the sharpest price possible. Please recommend me a provider, i always pay 1 year ahead for my servers. Everything below 170 usd a month is to be considered.

I don't expect a 1:1 ratio for the 100mbit/s but anything decent which is between 20mbit/s to 100mbit/s most of the time is appreciated.

    Thank you !

ps: i was looking at fdc but they're all sold out and i'm not planning to wait till they decide at some age to buy new space/servers.

Yes, in the u.s as i already have a couple of similar servers in europe. I thought it would be more expensive in europe to have such unmetered setup but it seems in the u.s it's more difficult to find anything decent.

Budget it a bit low, but I would check the offers forum. I have seen some crazy deals lately given out to people to get more traffic on their network.

I would advise you take a look at FDC (fdcservers.net) they are inexpensive and one of the few quality unmetered providers I know.

    US:

    http://www.choopa.com/unmetered_servers/

Choopa X25 Dell Poweredge SC1425 Dual Processor Intel Xeon 3Ghz 4GB RAM 500GB SATA Drive 25Mbps Unmetered 100% Dedicated Bandwidth No Setup Fees
    $179.00 /month

Choopa X50 Dell Poweredge SC1425 Dual Processor Intel Xeon 3Ghz 4GB RAM 500GB SATA Drive 50Mbps Unmetered 100% Dedicated Bandwidth No Setup Fees
    $199.00 /month

Check the Choopa.com deals on this forum, you may find better quotes. You may also get better prices if you order in advance for a year.

    fdcservers.net 50mbps average speed on 1gbps port, 150$ a month for AMD SEMPRON 2GB RAM 1TB HDD or 180$ a month for Pentium 4D 925 2GB RAM 1TB HDD

    burst.net PENTIUM-D 820 DUAL-CORE 2.8GHZ , 1GB, 250GB SATA, 4000GB per month (not sure but I think it's 2 in/2out) $59.95 , add 50$ for shared 100mbps (about 8-10TB out, 12-15TB in), contact them for a quote for guaranteed 50mbps / 100mbps, they say they offer it.

Read giga's fine print: they throttle if you use their "true unlimited bandwidth" in the way they advertise.

We use FDC extensively in Chicago for VPS nodes. I'd highly recommend fdcservers.net for unmetered. (We primarily use their 1Gbps unmetered but extremely fast, no real issues)

The best price I've seen for dedicated 100mbps is in the $400 range.

If you go significantly below that, you can be almost certain that there will be some kind of throttling or bandwidth sharing.

Maybe that works for you, particularly if you don't need the full 100mbps all the time.

You can probably get around 30mbps dedicated for that price. A 1:1 ratio you would be looking over $350

There are plenty of offers, but NO ONE can beat FDCServers in terms of pricing, because they offer

    - Free cPanel/other control panels
    - Upto 60 IP's free of charge
    - Decent unmetered and variety of upgrades
    - Cheap/Reasonable hardware upgrade prices.

Had a look at Burstnet/Hidefservers/choopa and they all ended up being more expensive.

I've tried to google and even looked at the offers forum. Not 1 provider provide can match FDC in terms server pricing/specs (especially hardware upgrades e.g. hdd/ram) or cPanel/rvskin/fantastico + 60 IP's.

so so far, what you said mat me true, but I haven't found any unmetered deals even close to FDC.

I'm still open to anyone who can recommend something fitting the requirements. It boils down to the unmetered bandwidth, it doesn't need to be 1:1 ratio but important to mention the ratio. You can PM or post here. Thank you !

  20. #20
    PS: concerning specs:

This is not so important as long as the server has at least:
    2GB ram
P4/dcore/amd single(or dual) CPU (equiv to 2.2Ghz and up)
1x160GB but pref 2x160GB or higher
no mom and pop shop type service, support response time must be within 24 hours max.

What you get ? a loyal client who pays all his servers always for 1 year ahead.

FDC is currently sold out I believe, so I would also recommend you to check the Offers Forum. You may be able to find a good deal there. Aside from FDC, Choopa is another one you may want to look at. But for $170/mo, it may be tough.

They are not Unmetered, they have 2TB Limit and then 10Mbit Unmetered - in Total ~5TB.

    Hello,

Unless you really need the server to be unmetered caro.net has a special with 15tb @ 189 Euro which is not bad. However if you need the unmetered box to avoid overage fees then this might prove to be an issue as if you you do 16tb in one month you can get a hefty bill for that.

hmmm you can also check out pooled.net

I do not have experience with either of them but they are both seem to be respectable companies.

    Best of luck.
