That darn high frequency noise.
I'm sitting here at my desk and I keep hearing that high frequency mosquito noise thing. But no one is around and it's driving me nuts.
Just thought I'd share that.

I had a cricket in my office for two weeks. I almost went crazy.
RAID (not the disk kind) took care of it though.Fast Serv Networks, LLC | AS29889 | DDOS Protected | Managed Cloud, Streaming, Dedicated Servers, Colo by-the-U

I get the same thing. It has to do with the way your house is wired. I could never figure it out until one time I unplugged something from one of the outlets in the room, and the mosquito went away. Take a look at what other electrical device(s) is plugged in near your computer which would likely share the same circuit breaker.

I've got sensitive hearing, but not painful. I'll pickup strange sounds late at night or early morning when there's nothing else going on. I got tested for white noise/tinitus a few years ago, but it came out clean.
I know which sound you're talking about, sounds like a long-winded supercharger that's muffled whining up and staying at a certain speed, it's annoying.
