    Exclamation HELP - cpanel DNS setting for email on 2 seperate server

    This is the scenario, domain.com are setup on server1, however server2 also has the same profile of domain.com as we use ns3 and ns4 using domain.com. This works fine with the nameserver setup on server2.

    However I encounter problems as the emails from server2 won't reach server1 as there are duplicate profile on server2.

    My question is how do I setup the DNS in cpanel/whm from server2 so the emails from server2 will reach server1?

    Server1 (www.domain.com)
    ns1.domain.com
    ns2.domain.com

    Server2
    ns3.domain.com
    ns4.domain.com

    Depends on how you've achieved "server2 also has the same profile of domain.com"

    You probably need to get your domain name listed in /etc/remotedomains, while it should not be in /etc/localdomains. But there may be more than that.

    I never had to bother much about those files, as I could achieve what you are trying to, by following setup.

    After creation of the account on server1, I edit named.conf in Server1 and Server 2 as follows:

    Server1
    zone "domain.tld" {
    type master;
    also-notify { xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx; }; // IP address of Server2
    file "/var/named/domain.tld.db";
    };

    Server2
    zone "domain.tld" {
    type slave;
    file "/var/named/slaves/domain.tld.db";
    masters { xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx; }; // IP address of Server1
    };
    Apart from the above, I also touch /var/named/slaves/domain.tld.db on Server2.

    Is there any settings I can change at WHM? Since I don't have root access.

    Can you explain how are you currently maintaining the DNS zones on two servers?
    If you can give me a sample of such a domain, I can check a few things and suggest some way out. (You may PM me if you don't want to name the domain here)

    Just to summarize the issue:
    1. the domain was moved from one server to the other
    2. the dns zone on the old server was left as it is, therefore the emails originating from there would be delivered locally

    My suggestion is to copy the DNS records from new server to old. However, if the domain is not required on the old server, the best option would be to terminate the server on old server.
    Also suggested to add custom name servers at Registrar (child name servers) and some minor changes in SOA record

    P.S. PM has been replied to.
