    After rotation mysql don't write mysqld.log

    Hi

    we have set logrotate for rotate mysqld.log daily

    file is compress, deleted and created from logrotate
    but mysql not write anything

    Any idea about why ?

    Give a special account enough privileges to flush, then create a .my.cnf file with the password for that special account in it, and you can script it to run shortly after your log rotate job.

    Hope that helps.

    Edit: MySQL might also re-open log files after receiving a hangup signal (SIGHUP, or kill -1) but I can't confirm that. Give that a shot first, it'll be much easier to script.
    I used to run the oldest commercial Mumble host.
