Combined broadband, web hosting and phone line

    Hi

I'm looking for a provider that can give me broadband, web hosting and phone line rental.

Right now I'm paying 20 per month to Freeola for a broadband connection and making extensive use of their free unlimited web hosting for a number of websites using php. I pay BT for the phone line rental and could save some money by switching to a combined phone line and broadband service but I haven't been able to find a provider that offers the hosting services as well.

Does anyone have any suggestions where I could look?

    Many thanks

    Matt

I think the answers would be specific to your location... so where are you located?

There's only one place I know that uses that funny squiggly L symbol for their currency...

matthc - personally, I wouldn't choose to combine hosting with phone and BB. ISPs tend not to have specialist hosting knowledge and if you have a problem you could lose all your communications at once.

And last I checked... it was a country and not a city? (i.e. not specific enough I wouldn't think...) I could be wrong though

Thanks for the quick responses. I'm in rural Cambridgeshire, between Huntingdon and Peterborough.

Most ISPs in the UK provide some form of free web space, but in all honesty, you are better off keeping them separated. You can find a free web host, thereby cutting the tether of your hosting and broadband ISP, which will be able to host your php scripts.

I have looked at some of the usual home BB providers but none seem to offer what I'm looking for with regard to webspace and PHP capability (at least not that they admit to on their websites), so you may be right about having to separate the two services.

Freeola's bundled hosting provision is great and I have had no problems with them. The only downside is that I'm paying more than I need to for the broadband connection and they don't have the option of bundled line rental.

If I were to look elsewhere for the broadband, who would you suggest for the hosting? I need to be able run multiple PHP-based websites, each with a different domain name, preferably without paying a separate fee for each one. Total space shouldn't exceed 1G for a very long time.

    Thanks again

Any paid hosting service will be fine. Just make sure you pick one with a certain amount of add-on domains. That way you will be able to run all websites on 1 plan. If you want a different control panel for each domain then you would need to get reseller hosting.

I have just switched from free hosting (110mb.com) to Freeola. Their web-hosting page advertises "unlimited" web hosting with "unlimited" web addresses... in fact the word appears about 20 times on the page...
When I enquired yesterday how to add a second site to my "unlimited" package, they explained that each account can host only one website. Now I don't know what "unlimited" means to the majority of people, but it seems to me that limiting the account to one site is the exact opposite of "unlimited". I will ride out the remainder of the 3-months I paid for, then I'll move elsewhere and they can do whatever they like with the domain name. Any recommendations?
