Web Traffic questions?
Im not completely new to web hosting how ever i deffinatly lack when it comes to understanding what effects user traffic.
So start with this...
How many people could a server serve on a connection such as this i only need estimates or ranges.... Though an example might be for a wordpress blog or phpbb forum.
According to speedtest.com
12.50 Mb/s (download)
3.50 Mb/s (upload)
Server One info:
CPU: AMD Athlon 3200 2.200GHz 512KB L2 Cache & 400MHz FSB
RAM:512MB DDR (PC 2700)
HDD: 160GB (7200RPM)
I also have a second sever which i could add...
CPU: Intel Celeron 667mhz
RAM: 192MB
HDD: 15GB (5400RPM)

It really depends on what those users are being served, it they are getting static html pages then a hell of a lot - if you're looking at hosting unix images then speed is going to be greatly effected.
Also, a lot of it comes down to how the server is configured, if you use default values for everything its not going to run as quick as it could.
You should let people know what you intend on serving, what software you'll be using on the server etc.███ The Simple Host Ltd - Premium Quality European Web Hosting - Uptime Stats

It really depends on how many http requests are being made, how good the programming is (in terms of closing connections, etc), what other services are running on the machine, plus a heap more.
Why don't you have some stress tests done on the machine? There are a number of services out there that can do this.

That connection should be ok for a forum, but not image hosting.
