What did you do for Halloween?

    Greetings,

Well, I did some shopping and headed home in time to distribute treats. As I approached the parking lot I saw the last of the trick-or-treaters leaving the apartment complex. No more came after that. I have about a month's supply of 1 ounce packages of sweetened dried cranberries.

Dinner at the parents place which allowed me to steal some of the candy. I was still hung over from the night before so just watched TV after.

Been sick with a flu since Tuesday, and last night was one of the worst so far. Fingers crossed it isn't H1N1.

First my niece's 4th birthday party (yes, born on Halloween, not just celebrated then); then came home and did nothing for a couple of hours... took the kids to a church Halloween event (free games / candy / fun stuff to do), then went Trick or Treating for like 2 1/2 friggin' hours. Scoured the entire neighborhood !! Then had Del Taco for dinner and crashed after eating that and about 50 tootsie rolls, because I also was not home almost the whole night so the ~5lb in candy that I bought for the neighborhood kiddos is still here.

That's what I thought. I just thought this was a bad cold/minor flu, but my pharmacist roommate said my symptoms and the order I got them match recent swine flu cases at the hospital where he works. I guess Swine Flu is only bad if you have other medical complications - to most healthy people it just presents like other sickness (thank goodness!).

Thanks! I feel like I'm almost over it.

Anyway, back on topic: due to the flu, I didn't get to have a fun Halloween this year. We didn't get any trick-or-treaters either.

Nothing really. Just another day on the calendar for me. I do regret purchasing the box of Halloween candy though, as it wasn't necessary heh.

I took my sister's kids trick or treating around my grandma's neighborhood. Pretty interesting that one side of the street and beyond has tons of candy but the other side is dead. She only had 3 kids trick or treating her street and yet all the lights down the street were on lol.

My wife and I went and handed out candy at her parents' house. I based a costume around this mask and had pretty solid success jumping from behind the bushes and scaring some of the older kids.

I remember when I was a kid back in the 80's and people did this, my parents thought it was a hoot but I guess we live in different times now as I got yelled at once and a received a handful of dirty looks from some parents.

That mask is scary! I only see an issue with someone scaring someone else if they are a little kid. I also remember when I was little part of tricker treating was getting scared.

    Let's see...

Well I am going to say what I did for the whole day.

I woke up super early, drove my dad down to Waco, TX to watch the Baylor vs. Nebraska game. On the way the car almost ran out of gas so I went to the nearest gas station possible and paid over 40 cents more per gallon than I would if I were in town. They had a Grandy's there, absolutely the worst restaurant I have ever been to. I finished the drive down to Waco, TX, watched Nebraska win as I predicted. Sunburned already my father wanted to ride like a cool old dude with the top down and I further got sunburned, I am literally like a lobster right now.

Once I got home I ate some pizza, and for hours our house sounded like a ye olde church. Our doorbell is church bells and for some reason kid's REALLY like to hit the door bell MULTIPLE times just to hear it. It gets really annoying when your trying to just relax after driving for hours, etc.

I hope you only purchased 1-2 gallons of gas given the exorbitant pricing!

    LOL about Grandy's... I agree.

Hmm, what kind of car do you drive again?

I fill my entire gas tank for under $30 and I drive over 300 miles on that.
