Dual CPU 5520-"READY For One year downpayment" - Best way to get Maximum Discount ?

    Hello every one
we are having few servers in theplanet which we want to move immediatly to new service provider.
iam looking out for a server with hardware config given below

    Dual CPU Quad Core Xeon 5520 - 2.26GHz (Nehalem) - 8MB cache w/HT
    12 GB DDR3 RAM
    2 x 1TB Hard Drives
    RAID 1
    cpanel
    10TB Bandwidth
for a cost of around 200$/month

Now i know most of them would say its a pretty low price but inorder to get that pricing..we are ready to signup for 1 year and pay the money upfront.that comes to around 2400$.
we will be placing 2 servers so intotal its around 4800$ per year.

do you think any good reputed company would offer a good deal with 1 year deal.

my second question is..is it worth to take a risk of paying one year upfront for getting such a discount?

we already shifted few servers from theplanet to some other service providers..and this time we want to order high end servers.

please suggest me any companies which can offer such pricing.

we have network engineers and server admin who will take care of our servers.basic support would be ok.

but we are very much interested in 200 $ per month range.

You can probably buy a server like that for 2000$* or so and then collocate it for 600$/year.

    EDIT: FIXED PRICE SORRY

I'd love to know where I can find colocation with 10TB bandwidth for $600 a year!

OP, you may want to have a look at my thread at http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showth...light=netdepot

You're asking for a bit more than I was, and I think it's going to be quite hard to find, unless you're willing to pay a very large setup fee.

I was just about to say the same thing! The only place I can recommend you check out is 10tb.com and see what they can do for you.

The problem I see is that you need a cPanel license included in that $200/mo. If you were to look around $235-$250/mo I don't think you'll have a problem.

are you sure i will get dual cpu 5520+12gig ram+2tb hdd+10tb bandwidth+cpanel for 235 to 250 dollars.if yes..then will you please suggest those companies name?

regarding 10tb..i dont mind coming down to 4tb or 5tb bandwidth per month as long as the price comes down to 200 $ per month.

am more concerned about cpu and ram,no issues about hard disk and bandwidth.

and as i told before i dont mind paying 1 year money upfront for getting this discount.

do suggest some dedicated server providers please..maybe with the same config or smiliar to that.

That's still stretching it really. Are you willing to pay a setup fee?

You can expect 10TB bandwidth to cost around $100-$200 from most providers who specialise in this. Dual 5520, dual drives, RAID and cPanel will definitely bring the price to minimum $300-$400 in the best scenario, while $500-$700 will be a more realistic sum.

Agree, where is the OP getting $200/month from?

I agree with LaptopFreak that $400 would be a pretty close to the most competitive rates for this among legitimate providers. Paying annually should certainly help that a lot.

Just a guess but the cost of the machine alone is around $2,300.
Then cPanel license cost is around $25/month.
This is before monthly costs for rackspace, power, bandwidth, support, spare parts cost to have in stock so they can replace right away when something dies..., cost of switches, remote reboot strips, routers, etc.
Just not really possible unless someone uses really cheap hardware, and is desperate for the business(because even so they would make no profit).

You can do RTO with webnx. I have similar configuration with 5530.

How large of a setup fee / initial investment are you willing to do for this server?
