Windows 7 tray icons problem
I'm over at a friend's house where he just got Windows 7.
Anyway everything seems to work fine except we can't get programs into tray. Instead it's showing them in the task bar as tasks.
Now, I read in some places on the Internet about the little up arrow and a "customize" option but the thing is: the arrow doesn't exist.
I have sound icon, solve PC issues icon, battery icon and a wireless connection but no arrow icon.
is there a way to customize without this icon or a way to get it back on tray?
Thanks.Defend Net Neutrality.

Yeah its the way 7 works, not all apps stay in the taskbar.
Applications like outlook 2007 and Windows Live Messenger tray to the taskbar on 7, but software like antivirus (kaspersky) go to tray with ease.
Did he do a fresh install? Also he might try windows update as it updates program actions like minimize to trayFollow me on Twitter: @conrjac

We did a clean install after formatting.
And that's the thing: Windows Live doesn't get into tray. I just installed it and it's stuck in the task bar as if it was another task, not in tray.Defend Net Neutrality.

Yeah but its the whole 7 concept, you can disable it through restoring the orginal task bar style
