    Free Live Chat Software

I am looking for a free alternative to liveperson. I want a full-time solution, not a free trial, and also, I only need one department, and there will only be one operator working at a specific time-frame because the expected traffic of the site is very low.

Could someone please help me find a solution? I have tried everything in google, including a service called uZoom, but uzoom doesn't work. After the entire setup is completed, it says that it cannot connect to the server because of a firewall or something, but my internet connection is still working and no firewall is active.

So please suggest a good free provider...

Just wondering what you mean by 'not really fast'?

As we only use free software ...

Is there any REALLY FREE live chat system? By really free, I mean something that I could package and upload in Debian: open source, and meets the Debian Free Software Guidelines (DFSG). It doesn't seem to be the case with LiveZilla ...

    Thomas

P.S: If only in English there was 2 words for free with separate meanings, it would be a lot more easy...

Oh, forgot: LiveZilla is shipped as a .exe. Is it that it runs only in Windows?

Yes, unless you have a program on Mac (such as Crossover for Mac) or other OS's that can run .exe files.

    Dot,

Even with Crossover I can't run the Livezilla operator client on my mac, it lacks .Net framework. It's impossible to install .net on a mac even w/ crossover.

Livezilla is the best "free" one out there.
Even many others are there, but their License is too expensive.

    Kayako Have an open source Live chat project;

PyLiveResponse - multiplatform, open source LiveResponse desktop client

We are incredibly excited to announce that Ravinder Singh, one of our technicians has developed the foundations a multi-platform LiveResponse desktop application written in Python (using the Qt application framework).

    Project link: SourceForge.net: PyLiveResponse

    Project details:

    • PyLiveResponse is an open source project.
    • This project will be community maintained; we will not be officially supporting it.
    • The application is currently marked as Alpha and has not been thoroughly tested.
    • We are releasing the project under the GNU General Public license.
    • SVN root: https://pyliveresponse.svn.sourcefor...pyliveresponse
    • Currently, only OSX (Mac) binaries are available. Linux binaries will be added over the next few days.
    • Everyone is encouraged to test it, use it, report bugs, suggest ideas and contribute to the project.
    • Ravinder will be managing and continuing to develop the project.
    What currently works?

    • Visitor monitoring
    • Live chat with visitors
    • Staff statuses: "Online" and "Away"
    • Visitor information
    • Chat status
    • Proactive chats: Request and Forced
    • Conferencing
    • Staff-to-staff chats
    • Full UTF-8 support
    Project link: SourceForge.net: PyLiveResponse

It's just an opensource client for Kayako customers, since it asks for account name, username, and password. It's just a client for accepting chats that's supposed to be more advanced than the original software, I believe. I could be wrong though.

Livezilla is free and great. LiveZilla provide you live chats and monitor your website visitors in real-time, also have build-in Geo Location Map which is very useful. We use it and we are very happy with it.

I'm not sure whether this has ever happened to anybody else, but when I owned my own web hosting company on a reseller account, they asked me to remove LiveZilla because it was using too many resources.

    Is this just me?

I shouldn't worry though - If there is a problem, you'll soon see and you can make changes.

I'm currently testing livezilla and seems to be a stable product
