Our NOC does not see anything unusual happening in the network.
Please send me a traceoute from your place to the server (not the other way around) in PM. This will help us determine where the entry point to our network is and if it is peering or transit.

    Thanks.

    Thanks for the traceroute.

I see where the problem is. We are peering with Telecom Malaysia on LINX (London). TM has very limited capacity to Europe and we have already been in touch with them about this very issue a few weeks ago.

This is the saturated link on TM's side:

    3 linx-ro01.tm.net.my (195.66.224.47) 93.255 ms 103.151 ms 105.993 ms

Here is an extract of an email we exchanged with them a few weeks back:

    Hi,

Currently we're having limited capacity at both DE-CIX and LINX. Thus, we had to utilized other links for Europe. We're planning to upgrade the links and will send full routes to our IX peers. Until then, the approach will remain. Appologized for inconvenience caused.

    Thank you.

Well, this is not a European issue, as it seems to me.
TM is just "too lazy" to upgrade their capacities towards Europe.
You will see this issue with any European ISP dealing with TM, not just with us.

I really hope that they will do something about it, because we have quite a lot of traffic going in their direction :-(

    ----------------------
    ----------------------

    This problem isn't permanent.
Right now it is night time in Malaysia, so less users online over there meaning more capacity available.

Server.Lu use really bad hardware, their swithces are a ******** (30$ USD switches), and when a server receive a really big traffic your packet loss will be high.

    New user, how convenient!
And no, we don't use 30$ switches, in fact, they are Cisco 3650G switches, but I am sure you know all that stuff better than me.

I just did another test. It is late here, so I suppose it's peak time(correct me if i'm wrong, but i am just too lazy to check what is the time there)

    4.. 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms 78.83.2.242
    ----------------
    ----------------
    ----------------
    11.. 54 ms 53 ms 53 ms linx-ro01.tm.net.my [195.66.224.47]

    It seems same for me.

I think peak time in Malaysia would be around 10am in Central Europe.

ey buddy, why you are more in the WHT than your ****ing ticket system ? and please, buy a better servers, your datacenter hardware is ********, trust me.

and please fix your "cooling issues" when the servers hang up because your temp in the datacenter is too high.

Lots of ***s. Where did you learn how to swear so much?

The ticket system is fine by the way. Hardly anything open and if it is open then we are waiting for a customer reply. Cooling is fine also. I think you should drive by if you get the chance to pass through Luxembourg. Maybe that'll change your mind.

I think this tread was about a latency / timeout issue towards a specific carrier in Asia, not about bad (lots of ***s) hardware or a server that goes too (more ***s) hot. So please, can you at least be so polite not to play gate crasher and open a new thread if you are really having issues?

I'm using it no problem at all server speed is maximum now also from TM.Net ISP, i think most probably the user already overselled the space on his server that's why that problem occurred

As posted earlier by me, there is an unregular saturation issue with Telecom Malaysia peerings all over Europe. They only have 1000 MBIT/s links to AMS-IX, DE-CIX and LINX. This information is public on www.peeringdb.com (User/pass: guest).

Their NOC has confirmed to us that they are having limited capacity and that they are working on upgrades. I can imagine that optical fiber upgrade from 1 GBIT/s to 10 GBIT/s from Malaysia to London, Frankfurt and Amsterdam is not going to be cheap.

I don't think the user oversold his server.

Only servernames starting with T, W or Y were affected. There was a fibercut from the core router to that room (we are talking about several 10 meters here, not more). The fiber has been replaced and the Layer2 switches have been reset.

I currently have multiple servers with server.lu, I am having no problems with hardware, nothing is overheating. My tickets are answered within the hour. But please if you can do better let me know.
