Colloidal Silver is known as "Natures Antibiotic"
"Another benefit is that colloidal silver has been recognised as a powerful, natural antibiotic. Research has shown that it works by acting as a catalyst, disabling the enzyme that single-celled bacteria, fungi and viruses require for the metabolism of oxygen. This then suffocates the invading cell whilst doing no harm to any human enzymes, resulting in the removal of disease-causing organisms from the body.
It also works through the negative charge on the silver clusters binding up with the positive charge on the germ/bacteria. This causes an interruption of the germs biological function which means that it is then unable to reproduce." [more]
A good natural medicine for alot of things!

I've learned a lot about the health aspects of silver & colloidal silver over the past two years. Spent a good bit of time reading all about it online. I was skeptical, but it turns out that silver is used significantly by the medical industry. Not only is silver used in many of the cleaning products in hospitals but it's also used in many wound treatments such as for burn victims and in other products which are intended for fighting severe infections. I know this first hand as silver products were used and considered to be "the best" (and most expensive) by the medical staff who were treating my grandmother's various wounds before she passed.
Silver is proven to kill the MRSA virus as well, afaik.
I'm sometimes a bit skeptical about colloidal silver, but that probably comes from the fact that it isn't promoted by "big pharma" (I suppose it might put some of them largely out of business). It seems easy for people to make on their own, which would be even worse for the pharmaceutical industry.
Apparently, viruses cannot become resistant to silver the same way they become resistant to antibiotic meds, which is another good thing when there are viruses such as MRSA.
Anyhow, I do have some colloidal silver that I bought in the past year. This is the stuff I have: http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/store/e...jsp?id=QI-1007 I did a lot of comparison with the various brands, but this one seems to be the most compelling in regards to its claim of better quality. Some info on that at http://www.natural-immunogenics.com/...e_analysis.php The price of this stuff, though, would make anyone consider learning how to make it on their own....john2k...

I people can smoke tobacco just to 'feel good', I don't see why people wouldn't turn blue to be healthy. Once we'd all do it, there would be nothing odd about it.
Trouble is, no one really knows if this is safe or doing any good.

I wondered what would happen if someone ingested a serious amount of silver in soluble form. I'm surprised the effects aren't worse. Fortunately the colloidal silver being sold should mostly pass through the digestive system with very little silver ion entering the blood stream.
For those who have taken high school or freshman college chemistry, you may recall what happens when you get silver nitrate solution on your skin. It precipitates in the skin as silver chloride, and then exposure to light breaks it down to metalic silver, much like the man in the picture. However, since a spill on the skin usually limits it to the outer layer, the non-living cells with the embedded silver will slough off in about a week.

Oops, on reading more it seems that colloidal silver is what he ingests. Of course he has been doing a lot of it for a long time.

Apparently he had been making a very strong colloidal silver and drinking a significant amount of it every day for many years. I remember reading about him around the time when he was on Oprah.
Turning blue like this guy is probably just as rare as the woman who had the really bad side-effect from the swine flu vaccination. I remember reading about this happening to some politician (I think a member of Congress) maybe a decade ago.
There are a lot of people who drink colloidal silver regularly and do not turn blue at all.
I don't use my store bought colloidal silver often at all, but I do put around a tablespoon of it in a few cups of green tea whenever I feel a cold/flu coming on.
I know somebody who a while back used to always have ear infections. Someone else told him "here, stick some of this stuff in your ear" and after that all his ear troubles were gone. The "stuff" was colloidal silver....john2k...
