    cdn.webhostingtalk.com - alive?

Is anyone else experiencing broken images? Especially the logo.

    cdn.webhostingtalk.com resolves to cdce.dal003.internap.com [72.5.252.2]

pings fine, just won't load anything.

It's the CDN that delivers all the images for WHT.

ibm loads, but not hp or dell

somewhere someone has dropped the routing hot potato

    Nope, cdn is hosted at
    PING cdce.hou002.internap.com (66.150.143.66): 56 data bytes

Whereas webhostingtalk.com is hosted at rackspace.

CDN pulls data from the nearest node to the user. e.g. in my case, all the images comes from a server in Japan.
So, might be some trouble in the node the images coming from.

Like BurakUeda said, it finds the closest node and redirects you... that's what CDN's are for! It was probably some suboptimal routing between plumsauce and the closest node. InterNAP has quite a mix of carriers.
