I upgraded my Vista home premium to Windows 7 Professional about 4 days ago and so far absolutely love Windows 7! I got the windows 7 student edition upgrade for $30. The upgrade downloaded in about an hour and the install fast and simple.
For those that are getting Windows 7 there is still a UAC. Its not as annoying as Vista's. But guess what there is a HIDDEN administrative account that you can access that doesn't have it. When you open start type CMD right click it and select run as administrator.
After Dos Prompt comes up type "net user administrator /active:yes" this makes the administrator account visible on every log in. if you want to password it at the same time type "net user administrator abcd" with abcd being your password of choice. It performs much much faster!!!
While I have only been using it a few days I can't find anything that I don't like about it. As with any new software I am sure it will have some issues and some things that won't work. I guess time will tell, if I end up hating it my laptop still has a recovery partition with Vista on itCurrently hosting with Big Brain Global Networks

Two things I have noticed immediately:
1) Boot time is faster
2) Applications runs a lot faster, and when closed, unloaded from the system almost immediately (e.g. no forever hard disk readings after closing an application).
Upgraded to W7 Premium from Vista Home Basic.
System is Core2Duo 3.06 Ghz, 4GB Memory, 1GB Graphic card

I've heard nothing but positive things about Windows 7. Looking forward to building a new computer around Christmastime and putting a clean install of it on there.

I upgraded my desktop from Vista Ultimate to Win 7 Pro earlier this evening... Process was fairly simple and did not take too long.
There are a few small quirks I dislike but overall it is quite nice.
Will play with it more tomorrow when I have more time
As for now, I still prefer OS X on my MacBook over Windows Next desktop will likely be a Mac.█ Daniel | Server Complete, LLC

I ordered Windows 7 Home Premium from Newegg yesterday. Should be here sometime this afternoon. I'm running the RC currently so I'm definitely happy that I will be able to reformat and install the final release. My PC needs a reformat anyway, it's been pretty sluggish lately.

Having severs with customer data on it without proper monitoring is like having one night stand without using protections - eventually, there will be an 'oh s**t!' moment.

We just upgraded a few machines at work for testing. Only complaint I have so far is we can't get the Sonicwall VPN client working right on the 64-bit version. Otherwise it's been good.

I am upgrading my Laptop right now.
From the buzz around the internet it looks to be pretty amazing.
I had already checked it on another laptop.
Great improvements and Microsoft is back at innovating!

Any thoughts on Windows 7 stability vs. Windows XP? I'm wondering if I should upgrade, but Windows XP works well, and I don't want to fix something that's not broken.

I have the Windows 7 Ultimate in my main PC and in my laptop. Overall is a great operating system. It is for sure more secure, fast and easy than Windows Vista.
It is also more attractive than Windows XP and you can adjust it more.
As for wireless I had no problems with Windows 7.

Bought Win 7 professional retail box yesterday and upgraded from Vista ultimate.
Gotta love the raw speed. I had to get used to the new way of managing quick links though.I choose not to use my signature for advertising.
It doesn't matter how much you claim how important your data is. If it's not backed up, it's not important.
