I'm planning to place some firewalls in my network, but I'm afraid of something.

I have never used cisco pix, checkpoints and others.. We currently use custom made linux solutions for that

When we use these ready-to-go boxes, do we need to NAT the internal server IPs?

Is it possible to use these ready-to-go solutions with REAL IPs in the servers?

Does cPanel work well with NATed internal IPs? Or shall I have some trouble?

Do you think it's safer to with NATed, or it will be better to use real ips instead?

cPanel requires a static public IP address in the server which hosts the control panel cPanel/WHM.

If you're going to expose the server on the internet then for cPanel you will require a public IP address. This is primarily because of the way cPanel works w.r.t licensing etc.

Yes however you can still run cPanel behind NAT.

As long as you run 1:1 NAT on IPs you will be fine. The only issue is DNS.

The IPs on the server are LAN ips. Last I recalled we had to manually handle some of the IP setups for DNS so they go to the correct IP. It has been awhile since I did a 1:1 NAT cPanel thats just what I seem to remember

*edit* apache also can have trouble with IPs.
