I'm just curious about which direction that this industry will go with .NET. Or how would .NET affect this web hosting industry? Is Unix/Linux and open source existance in danger for the long term?

From what I have read is .NET will offer a low cost license for web servers. It will have limitations but will work for basic web hosting. MS is trying hard to break into this market, .NET just may help.

.NET has many new promising changes which will probably make it much more desireable.
