    Arrow AlphaSSL

    Hey all,

Curious if anyone has any experience with AlphaSSL certificates. I've tried searching here at WHT and no threads came up other than advertisements. Searched Google and not many reviews came up.

They seem to be a cost effective and convenient alternative to some of the higher priced Comodo and Geotrust certificates. I found an AlphaSSL reseller which offers them for $29/year

    Any thoughts on AlphaSSL?

We have recently started using them and have had a lot of success with them. They are done by GlobalSign. Are you looking to use them for your site or resell them to your clients?

Haven't used them myself but I know of someone that is, sent them an email to see what they've thought of so far. That is a really great price.

Is AlphaSSL even recognized by IE? If not, they're worthless to the majority of the real world.

we use AlphaSSL, and we also resell globalsign certs through sslreseller.com (not our company, thats how we got our ssl cert reseller account).

AlphaSSL is regonised by most browsers and devices, just as long as its installed properly.

Justin looking around The Planets SSL page now and noticed something rather dumb.

Is it just me, or does The Planet want me to enter my credit card information to purchase a Rapid SSL cert, from a page that doesnt have any sort of SSL protection?

Thats right. Enter your CC info into a page thats not protected and press the send button.

This absolutly amazes me. What are they thinking?

Globalsign has been around a lot longer than geotrust and rapidssl certs. Not only are they more secure, but they are mobile friendly, unlike rapidssl certs. I highly recommend the globalsign ones. If your looking to resell, try out http://sslreseller.com/. Thats where I got my account.

Actually what brand SSL also same secure.
    Except the browser recognition percentage.

GlobalSign are the second oldest root, they have chained certs which make them more secure. EV are available through the site that MACscr mentioned.

They are a darn good cert cheap, reliable and they cover www and nonwww in the same cert as long as you order it correctly.

They are recognised on IE larwilliams

I signed up for an AlphaSSL/Globalsign reseller account from www.sslreseller.com, and they are absolutely amazing. One of my customers bought a certificate from me and right as I went to deposit money into my sslreseller account, paypal limited my account. I submitted the documents paypal required, but they said I would have to wait 24-48 hours for them to review the documents and unlimit my account. I told SSLReseller that, and they offered to issue me the wildcard certificate in advance (since I was a trusted NEO reseller). I would recommend them to anyone! Great customer support just like NEO.
