Cool How to get added in DMOZ !!

I know it depends on the editor if they are in a good mood and it takes like forever for the editors to make decision.

Other than that is there a proper way to influence the editor to accept my submission?

I would say that there are no exact advice on how to be included in DMOZ directory. Try the best to impress an editor with your site. All that you can do is to submit a website to DMOZ choosing the correct category and providing the right website description. This may help. Be patient, it make take up to a year before your site will be approved and added by the editor.

Follow the posted rules about submitting to DMOZ and add a "Thank you!" at the end of your submission so the editor knows you appreciate what they are doing.

You should be thanking every place that you submit to..!

Follow the instructions and then the only thing you can do is wait. I have had sites added to categories that were added within a week (seriously). I had others submitted in categories and I was still not in there after a year time and after contacting the category admin.

It is very dependant on how busy the category is and the admin behind it. Some just seem to be plain lazy so if you hav bad luck then you gotta wait.

Because of these problems DMOZ is by far not as important anymore as it used to be. So I wouldnt worry too much about being included or not. It is not like 5 years ago where you really needed the DMOZ entry to go to the top in google.

like yahoo, submit it then wait another 6months, have a check to see if it success, if not submit it again and wait 6 months more.
both dmoz and yahoo index your website manually, so the content is very important. you'd better add some pages of your website and upgrade some hot topic.

note: don't submit it again and again, it's uselessful.

Your site needs to be full of good, original content and needs to be established. You are competing with sites that have an established web presence and reputation going years back.

Either the category is dormant (which is it?) and doesn't have an editor, or you have been rejected (most likely the latter).

What problems do you mean? DMOZ is still the most authoritative hand-edited directory on the Internet - regardless of whether or not some categories are busy or do not have an editor.

So I wouldnt worry too much about being included or not. It is not like 5 years ago where you really needed the DMOZ entry to go to the top in google.
DMOZ links are more important than ever before, in terms of SEO and organic SERP 'boosts' - you just cannot beat human edited directories of good content, and Google know this.

Google still sometimes opts to use the DMOZ entry title for your site's listing in the SERPs, as opposed to your own (if Google doesn't think yours is good enough).

Patience / become an editor in that category. Though becoming an editor also requires patience and luck. Just work on other ways of link building in the mean time.

DMOZ can be an exercise in frustration. But it's worth a try.

    hi,

four steps to be listed in DMOZ. Initially, you have to have information whether a point should certainly be listed and is not today listed on the ODP. Next is great which combination prime describes or fits the website you are suggesting for inclusion. After these prime three steps, you will thus infatuation to fill out the author on the dmoz abode on the party you buy best describes the compass you are suggesting. Approval for inclusion in the record may depend on the editors' right with the power of final, also depend on the receiving of volunteer editors the spot currently has deal for them.

    thanks

As a former DMOZ editor, let me advise you to submit and perhaps re-submit your request. Even email an editor, perhaps. Nag politely but surely, and you'll get approved in time.

I always approved pretty quickly if the link was relevant, but many moderators are a fair bit slower. *shrug*
