    Iweb sucks ???

Is there anyone with a bad experience with Iweb support or I am the only one ?
    I can't believe it %4#:-(
Hosting over 100 sites with VIP clients.
We have 2 servers with Iweb Technologies in Montreal and our main server is down since 2 days.
We had 2 disks in RAID and they tell us both disk broked. How can it be in same time ??? and it take so long to get a short job done
    I am so upset.
Never go with a datacenter who is your provider/competitor in same time. We suspect them to try to ruin our business, I cannot see any other raison why.

Who wants our business I am ready to rent a dedicated server now
with Plesk ? You better have a strong and quick support.

The only problems I have had is an abuse complaint that got ignored. They had or might still have a childporn site on their servers and allow it because "none of the parents of the kids on the site have come forward with proof of age".

If it's software RAID-1 / RAID-O, the first disk "can" fail the second one.

Can you provide me a ticket number, I will verify with the sysadmin manager.

thanks 4 ur concern and advice.
They told me it might take about an hour or so to do the job as soon as they start it. After 7 or 8 hours I cancelled the ticket as they even did not touch it or read it even after many demands.

We are doing the job ourself and
as soon as our clients are back online(and we help all those who are leaving)
I will proceed to move my 2 box out of there
unless I find someone interested in bying the leftover :-)

It seems as the problem has been resolved as of around 11am this morning. There has been problems in the way your ticket has been handeled. I am still not sure why it has not been escalated and/or replied in a timely manner but please get in touch with David that sent you an email to make sure we understand what happened and that we can review the situation and offer you proper compensations and/or fixes.

Resolved ?? You mean I cancelled my ticket.
I did call David, as I told him when the glass fell on the floor you can only sweep the pieces out. You can gave me back the pieces and may be a picture of it as a souvenir if you can call it a compensation.

Glad to see iWeb is handling the situation is a responsible way. It's good to know they are willing to admit they failed to handle the ticket properly. Hope everything goes well for you.

Believe after I see some evidence. You know that harms a lot, everyone won't let that happen on the server,of course that do not worth it.
It is nice Iweb is responsive on this.Hope you can have the problem sorted out soon.

I did last year. You contacted the person who owned the server. he knew about the site, he contacted me and said I need proof of the "persons" age before he can delete it per iWeb requirements. I contacted iWeb again, same thing I got the same email he sent the first time.

It depends of the situation, there are situations we can act on, others we can't.

If you sent an abuse report and are not satisfied with the way it is handled, please give me the ticket number and I will escalate it and see if it we can take actions or not.

Can you give more information about the software raid 1 where the first disk fails the second disk? I have this configuration on a server and was considering it for a future server and am interested in this as the whole point of the Raid-1 is for this not to happen?

    Thanks!

Fbc was refering to software issues, that if there is a software issue on a disk that it will be repliacted to the other disk, not that a failed disk can fail another disk.

OK thanks for confirming - from the original posts it sounded like it was a hardware issue and it sounded like it brought both drives down or broke the RAID somehow.

It is understandable if it was a software issue as both drives are treated as one in that respect.

    Thanks!

Well, its good to know iweb is trying to fix the problem, although I'm not sure if it has been resolved but at least the effort to settle things is there.
