Need your help to add .css file to web server,Help me plz!
dear all WHT members,
i need your help/advice on how to create & add .css file & upload it to my webserver.
i explain more:
i'v created a website using Dreamweaver 8 & my website contains flash banner, many images, & once i uploaded the index.html together with all images & the flash banner ,i got only text displayed ( images & flash banner are not displayed when i browse my website ),
i read some threads somewhere in the web that .css file should be uploaded together with the images BUT I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW or whether this is the real cause of images missing.

you probably need to look at your html file and make sure your path to the css file is correct.

What is the site? Can you post some of the code here? You may have images pointed to the wrong location and/or problems because the css file you specify to use isn't uploaded as well.

Does your site displays correct when viewing it in Dreamweaver? Hit F12 when viewing the site in DW, it should open locally in your prefered browser. Still looks good?
If so, copy the ENTIRE contents of the folder you're working in within Dreamweaver, to the public_html, www or httpdocs folder of your web hosting package.
That should do it. You probably forgot to upload the style.css that Dreamweaver can create, or your paths are wrong.
Please post a link to an online demo if the promblem persists.

Moved from web hosting, as it's about web design and content.
The CSS, if in a separate file, needs to be placed in the same place on the server that you have it locally as it relates to the folders in your site. Same for images. Post a single image call here.
Code:<img src ="what_is_this_path">

1. Not sure sorry
2. If you are referring to the favicon you must first create the 16px by 16px images either in Photoshop or you can use a free online program to make it. (Search Google for "favicon maker") The file should be saved as favicon.ico (May not have to be but it's easier)
Once you have your 16px by 16px icon upload it to your public_html folder. Make sure you don't put the file inside any folder other than public_html.
Next you need to add the following code inside the <head></head> tags on every page of your website.
<link rel="Shortcut Icon" href="/favicon.ico" />
It may take a while to show the icon once you have re-uploaded your website files.█ Zomex ~ Templates & services for web hosting resellers since 2009!
