    Best Place to Purchase Servers

What is the best place to purchase servers? Curious to see prices of used and pre-built servers. Anyone have any recommendations? Any information is appreciated.

Are you looking for colocation or dedicated hosting? If you want to buy your own servers for colo, try apaqdigital.com, they are great. If you wish to rent a dedicated server, two good companies I know of are Limestone Networks and Take2Hosting. You can even buy servers from Take2Hosting on a rent-to-own plan if you'd like.

Ebay is a good place to look for cheap used servers, have had some good luck there. Another place to watch is the WHT forums, there are usually people selling machines at least once a week

Do yourself a favor and buy straight up directly from a reputable company such as Dell, Sun, HP, or any of the other large server suppliers.

Buying white boxes and other peoples used stuff may be cheap on the front end bu can become very expensive in maintenance. Also, you want to ensure that you really do get server grade gear and not PC parts.

Although buying server grade hardware is definitely worth the money, it can be costly.

I would highly recommend Supermicro parts for servers.

    www.supermicro.com

Builders such as apaqdigital.com, lionfiresolutions.com, or rackmountsetc.com all use Supermicro parts for their servers. Feel free to contact them and see what they can put together for you.

I Agree with you on this completely.
But to save costs it would be even more cheaper to assemble your own Computer. Many do that and it save cost

Dell has some great prices if you don't need HDD's :-)

Apaqdigital seems to have a good reputation on the forum.

I've been in talks with Clark since Apaq never got back to me, and Clark got back to my e-mail within 10 minutes! Great person to work with. Thanks again to everyone
