I'm currently looking for really reliable, but cheap hosting (tough combo I know) for my horse simulation game. Our current host, Awardspace, is overloaded and often my users can't access my web site since there's too many connections.
I've been searching about and talking to web hosting companies, and I really like the looks of iPage.com so far. All the reviews I've seen so far are really excellent for it. I just want a host thats affordable and can provide enough room for a game community which I hope will open to the public sometime next year.
So, tell me why I should NOT go with iPage. Is there something better out there? Are they riddled with bugs or have you had a bad experience? Are they reliable and have you ever seen them experience any major downtime?
If you think iPage is not the way to go, I'll need some recommendations--I want a new host ASAP. Yes, they must provide PhP and mySQL and run on Linux (I'm a Mac person). I can't pay ove $3.50 a month for shared hosting.
Its still nice if you keep looking on other offers from other hosts that might fit on your budget, just to widen your choices a bit. Since moving from host to host when trouble comes up could be very frustrating and tiring. Good luck on your host hunt =)
A lot of web hosting companies will be able to offer you $3.50 web hosting accounts and you need to do the search in this direction.
Use offers forums and FIND A HOST
And do the search for the domain name of your provider to get more reviews
It's worth noting that iPage is owned by conglomerate Endurance International Group, Inc., as of this writing. Add them to the list of brands Endurance owns in addition to ******.com and ApolloHosting.com.
