Another Virohosting.com Warning
Recently I've had the honor of speaking to the owner of ViroHosting.com. I didn't realize who it was until roughly 3/4 of the way through the conversation, but I figured something was clearly up when he offered me all of his clients for $100 and that he would work for free (this would probably have lead to the instant destruction of my company). Take a look at the conversation for yourself.
(6:36:41 PM) Jay: Hello
(6:39:06 PM) Chris: hey
(6:39:39 PM) Jay: May I have a link to your website please, I cant remember which one was yours
(6:39:58 PM) Chris: Trying to find a designer for a new one.. but Hiveon.com
(6:40:39 PM) Jay: You dont like the current design?
(6:40:43 PM) Jay: Its awsome.
(6:40:49 PM) Chris: I bought that design off a friend, temporarily.. and no, not realy
(6:40:51 PM) Chris: really*
(6:41:11 PM) Jay: Well I like it but thats just me.
(6:41:17 PM) Jay: Check out payton designs
(6:41:24 PM) Jay: They are really good.
(6:41:28 PM) Chris: its okay.. but im trying to have something like thsi done http://sattom.co.uk/
(6:41:40 PM) Chris: cleaner looking
(6:42:47 PM) Chris: and that design company didn't design that.. so dont hire them lol
(6:43:06 PM) Chris: i find it odd when a web design agency hires someone else to design their site
(6:43:16 PM) Jay: Yea same here lol
(6:43:25 PM) Jay: So are you the owner of Hiveon?
(6:43:34 PM) Chris: yeah, just getting it started
(6:44:08 PM) Jay: Are you looking to hire someone?
(6:44:14 PM) Chris: to do what?
(6:44:32 PM) Jay: Well I can manage your servers, Do tickets, answer calls, and do live chat.
(6:44:59 PM) Chris: I can handle it, and I have a friend that helps me out when needed.
(6:45:10 PM) Chris: thanks for the offer though
(6:45:57 PM) Jay: sorry about that
(6:45:58 PM) Jay: Dced
(6:46:05 PM) Jay: well what I meant was
(6:46:08 PM) Jay: I will work for free
(6:46:16 PM) Jay: Or very very cheap.
(6:46:23 PM) Chris: Why would you do that?
(6:46:35 PM) Jay: I have a hosting company of my own.
(6:46:40 PM) Jay: Its about time for me to stop that.
(6:46:53 PM) Jay: I just dont have the time to run it anymore.
(6:46:59 PM) Chris: How many clients?
(6:47:00 PM) Jay: So i was passing it on to my partner
(6:47:03 PM) Chris: oh
(6:47:16 PM) Jay: Would you want to buy it
(6:47:17 PM) Jay: ?
(6:47:23 PM) Chris: i was going to say, i would consider buying some, but.. depends how many you have
(6:47:34 PM) Chris: and what you wanted for them
(6:47:43 PM) Jay: 20 shared hosting clients
(6:47:51 PM) Jay: and about 15 vps clients
(6:48:29 PM) Chris: I don't plan on having a VPS server up for at least another 2 months, but I'd gladly consider the shared clients
(6:48:54 PM) Jay: $100.00 and there yours.
(6:49:02 PM) Jay: If I get a job there, and my partner does to.
(6:49:13 PM) Chris: What are they paying? Monthly/yearly?
(6:49:18 PM) Jay: Monthly
(6:49:28 PM) Jay: All of my clients pay by month.
(6:49:51 PM) Chris: What's your website and WHT username again?
(6:50:09 PM) Jay: http://virohosting.com
(6:50:15 PM) Jay: and I no longer use WHT
(6:50:19 PM) Jay: I use WTF forums tho
(6:50:25 PM) Jay: webtalkforums.com
(6:50:27 PM) Jay: and
(6:50:29 PM) Jay: v7n.com
(6:50:50 PM) Chris: No thanks.
(6:50:57 PM) Jay: no thanks what?
(6:51:04 PM) Chris: To your offer, to take your clients.
(6:51:12 PM) Jay: Why?
(6:51:29 PM) Chris: I'm not interested.
(6:51:43 PM) Jay: Why were you a moment ago and not now.
(6:52:24 PM) Chris: I've read a few threads about you and you're rather unprofessional in the way you handle issues. So sorry.
(6:52:45 PM) Jay: Lol
(6:52:49 PM) Jay: all of those are crap threads
(6:53:13 PM) Jay: all it is is
(6:53:15 PM) Jay: igxhost
(6:53:27 PM) Jay: and monkey servers screwing around on there

there's been some funny threads about viro in the past week.
i think anyone parting with the $100 would get severely rammed.
The Stealthy One......virohosting here on WHT is Envohost.

haha wow, there's a bit of a difference between 20 and 250. I strongly advise everyone to stay away from him. He is temporarily banned on WHT for now, but I'm sure he's still lurking.

Hmm... I've talked to Jay a few times in Skype - never picked up on this sort of vibe but it is of course hard to discern such things in a text conversation.

I don't feel so great regarding posts and comments in the posts I made regarding the accused, however, just to let everyone know I'm a fair person, I will always aim 100% to expose as much info as I can when would be scammers or spammers come to light or mixing amongst us.
I might be a bit of a loudmouth and react a little over the top in quite a few threads I'm involved in here on WHT, but one thing I will do is I will always be a bastion for fair commerce and try to protect the members here on wht who the not so worthy amongst us try to con and defraud.
This business needs to be kept clean, fair and competitive. That's what makes it such a healthy industry to be involved in.
We need to cut out the diseases...i.e (scamming and spamming)...and please believe me there will be quite a few lurking around on WHT and although the staff to a truly fantastic job, it would be totally unfair and naive to think they can cope with it all themselves because they are worked to the max already.
We all need to pull our weight to keep this place the best it is....some may call it teamwork....whether it's staff or members...we're all on the same side.

That line confused me to death. lol I think I get the gist of it though. I also don't mean to spam the heck out of these types of things, but I just think everyone should be aware of a potential scam. If I didn't read the other threads about ViroHosting.com on here I might have fallen into the trap and lost $100. I'm just trying to help out. Feel free to comment on my actions.

yupps Hiveon...you did the right thing alerting us all.
i'm lucky....i don't buy hosting clients...i don't even do public hosting. my hosting's by invitation only or my private clients.
but these type of alerts will always serve as fair warning as potential scams to companies that are involved in the hosting business/industry.

It's really funny when some people do that, I mean make fake exaggerated reviews of their own company.. If they give true good service, they never had to do that.
He almost seem so desperate offering to help you out for free, on the fact that he said he has no more time to handle his own business Funny and weird at the same time. And thanks for the warning by the way..FreePRchecker.com hosted by In2net Linux VPS

From Sept 22.
I bought servers from virohosting some time ago, but I had numerous problems with the company.
Jay told me that it was servers from 1and1 and it was their issues, so i sent in an enquiry to 1and1 and they responded with the following email:
***************************
Hi, we marked these servers as fraud, locked and terminated them because
we called the number on the account and there was no ***** *****
there.
virohosting is a scam. The domain was registered this month, probably
with a stolen credit card. The phone number on the site is bad. Below
is the contact details for the registrar and host, you might want to
contact them and let them know that this site is a scam. You may want
to report the fraud to the local police as well. 1&1 does not have a
reseller program. The technical contact for the domain has a verizon
cell phone, phone number (734) 756-7675. It is in Wayne, Michigan.
This might be a starting point for an investigation, although this
person may be a fraud victim as well. I would be careful when buying
things on the Internet from companies you never heard of.
