Lightbulb Question about Cpanel on Ubuntu

I did search for it on the forum,

Question 1: Are there any issues with Running Cpanel w/ WHM? long story short I heard it had issues with making domains and users because root isn't a user..? I like ubuntu but never ran cpanel on it. I want to use Ubuntu on my dedi. I'm not trying to start a ubuntu vs centos. Thankyou for your help.

Debian is not supported by CPANEL so, Cpanel on ubuntu will not work as well as it supposed to work.

I know that you don't want to start an UBUNTU vs CENTOS fight, but for really, red-hat based distros are better than debian.-

I think in general you've got it backwards. But for cPanel, RHEL or CentOS would be the wiser choice.

Lol, i'd used both O.S and i preffer Centos, fedora or redhat instead of using debian, i've my own arguments for it.-

We are not going anywhere, i'm on my bed right now!

You'll find in centos a better system for servers, and for your own desktop/laptop, just install fedora

BTW, ubuntu is not working on my laptop don't know why (it works fine in a VM )

Yup, just like you could open a can with a screwdriver, it's just so much easier when you use a can opener. Different jobs require different tools and distro's to sysadmins are just tools of the trade. Like any trade, the more tools in your utility belt, the better off you are, so learning a new distro is only going to be a good thing.

Ubuntu is my tool of choice.
